Their draft stock won't be that great really. Assuming they again pick towards the end of each round, they will have...

late 1st
late 2nd
late 3rd
late 3rd/early 4th
late 4th/early 5th
late 5th
three late 5th/early 6th picks
early/mid 7th
late 7th

Using the Rich Hill trade value chart for 2026 and assuming the Seahawks pick 32 again, all their draft picks would add up to around 392 points, which is less than the value of the 8th overall pick by itself, and is roughly equivalent to drafting 28th in each round with no extra picks.

Yeah, it's supposed to be a deep draft, but come on.

Just trying to keep it real, Pharma. It should be a good draft for shoring up depth anyway.

Are you suggesting we tank this season and then draft a RG 1st overall??? lol

Draft picks are great but this is a significant loss for the seahawks. They have lost players, coaches, now front office staff. Hopefully JS is up to the task of replacing all of them. Success really is about the people JS has around him. Teasley sends out letters to every NFL team. He gets one reply, that's from JS. I think that speaks to the kind of GM JS is
the one “outsider” candidate, and one of most respected evaluators in the NFL who wasn’t already a GM. An NFL source told me recently that Teasley would have already been a GM if he played politics. “Grinder” and “innovator” are two words commonly used to describe him.

Yawn, the team is already set for 2026 and now has a dozen draft picks to either use on rookies or trade for vets. I am sure JS isn't going to hire you are me so guessing his replacement will be solid.

Sure, I have confidence in JS but there is luck involved, opportunity. I've always said you make your luck, you have a role in it. You have to be available to the luck. I see J5 as being like that. He was lucky to find Teasley but that turned on him being the only one to reply to his letter. I think that's a great example of how that works

The CBS broadcasts have just been elevated into the stratosphere. Unlimited!

Again, I'm not sure which is more amusing... RW to CBS, or Matt Ryan leaving CBS to be president of football operations in ATL. Apparently a stint as sports analyst provides the experience necessary to make important decisions regarding a professional sports franchise. Although that may be what RW is thinking as well.

It is funny that we are lamenting picking near the end of the draft again. It seems in this horrible draft we got good players to fill the 4 players we lost. It seems JS has learned this time around.

This isn't even close to the first FO executive we have lost in John's era. I have hammered on John for his shitty O Lines, but really? What complaint other than that can we have, and even that seems to have been corrected. IMO? The FO's problem was Pete Carroll. The further Pete got away from his college days, knowing the players that he either coached, coached against or recruited? Our drafts got worse and worse. The fix was to get him out of John's way.

The constant hand wringing over little shit is funny though. We lost an executive, oh no.
Since taking over in 2007, the Thunder have lost at least 8 notable front office executives and high-ranking staffers to other NBA franchises.

Sam Presti’s tree has produced multiple general managers and top decision-makers. The most prominent departures include:

Troy Weaver: Left in 2020 to become the General Manager of the Detroit Pistons (later serving with Washington and New Orleans).

Will Dawkins: Left in 2023 as Vice President of Basketball Operations to become the General Manager of the Washington Wizards.

Michael Winger: Left Oklahoma City to become the GM/President of the LA Clippers (later taking over the Washington Wizards).

Rich Cho: Left in 2010 to become the General Manager of the Portland Trail Blazers.

Mark Bartelstein: Left to join the Chicago Bulls in an executive role.

Matt Lloyd: Left the Thunder organization to become the Orlando Magic's Director of Scouting.

Acie Law IV: Left the Thunder's basketball operations staff in 2025 to join the Brooklyn Nets front office.

Mitch Johnson: Formerly an assistant coach/scout in the OKC system, he transitioned to become a coach and later a front office figure with the San Antonio Spurs
Good organizations lose people. You move on. I really don't think this is going to hinder us a lot. Next man up.
