Well, I would actually say reactionary is hiring a manager FULL TIME in late August.
Reactionary would be paying guys who have never taken a swing in the Majors.

They are reactionary when they think it might be seen as visionary! Again, this organization is a complete mess.

I guess I meant knee jerk reaction. Seems like Reactionary should be the word for that. ha

It's possible the meaning of the word is shifting somewhat with modern usage. That's part of how language works.

Sure that is what Gabe is saying. But how in the world does a word with the root of reaction mean resistant to change. Another word that makes no sense is invaluable which means VERY valuable. "IN" before a word almost always means the opposite of the word alone like invalid, indirect or independence and many others.
