Nice work BM! Swap Locklear with JK and I am all in!!!! :D
Gladly. The math works even better (if you accept MLB Trade Calculator values as accurate). The question is whether the Rays would want him.
Might swap Woo with Miller but the math still works because they are valued almost identically.

That's a guaranteed $19 million (including a $1 assignment bonus) for two seasons of 32-year-old corner infielder Yandy Diaz.

Intriguing but with its risks.

Today's trivia:

December 13, 2018:
Yandy Diaz traded as part of a 3-team trade by the Cleveland Indians with Cole Sulser to the Tampa Bay Rays. The Tampa Bay Rays sent cash to the Seattle Mariners. The Tampa Bay Rays sent Jake Bauers to the Cleveland Indians. The Seattle Mariners sent Carlos Santana and cash to the Cleveland Indians. The Cleveland Indians sent Edwin Encarnación and 2019 competitive balance pick to the Seattle Mariners.

$19M for two years for a guy that just put up 5.2 WAR and a 158 OPS+ is a risk????????? Yeah I guess he could get hit by a bus any day now but his production could fall by 75% and he would still be worth the money...

Yandy Diaz has surplus value but issue is whether the 32-year-old's continued surplus value exceeds the combined surplus value of Bryce Miller/Bryan Woo, Harry Ford and Tyler Locklear/Jarred Kelenic. This year the 25-year-old Miller and 24-year-old Kelenic combined for 3.2 fWAR in partial seasons.

Well I don't think JK or Ford will ever be regulars in the big leagues so those two don't bother me in the least. Miller would hurt but you have to give to get since Jerry gets the hives whenever he even thinks about top tier FAs.

Sodo unearths a guy that I had NEVER heard of that seems to be a good trade target.

Is it pronounced fray-dul - as in Friedl, Friedl, Friedl, I made it out of clay?

Sorry I got distracted. Reds fans don't like their own player and want us to day drink?
