Murphy missed games due to a broken foot, broken thumb, dislocated shoulder. So he is more prone to being injured?
When I think of injury prone I think of guys like Paxton and Penny.

Would love to see a study of guys that were injured the prior season and not injured the prior season to see if there is a correlation between how healthy they were in the current season and if any injuries were related or unrelated.

Felt like Haniger was a lock to be injured again in 2023. Let's see if Murphy stays healthy in 2024. Giants obviously think he will.

I think of Guti and Michael Saunders also.

I'd have loved to see Murphy back. Probably the best DH on the market besides Ohtani. If he can stay healthy.

Having to say that part is what makes me think he's injury prone

Guti had Ankylosing Spondalitis which is a chronic incurable auto immune disease so that is as injury prone as you can get. Not sure what the issue was with Saunders but he definitely missed a lot time.

I don’t know if Jerry is hamstrung by the media package mess but if he doesn’t sign a significant bat then Julio won’t see anything but borderline strikes all year and that’s not going to play out well

Yes.
How does it work? What aspect makes him prone?

For me i pretty much limit it to the possibility of playing through the injury. All players get injured. Some players have a greater ability to play injured. The player that can't is going to be considered more injury prone. You basically can't play through broken bones so it isn't an aspect of being injury prone to me. There's also an aspect to how they play, if it's with abandon that could make a player injury prone. Haniger is an interesting case. I don't remember it well now. Seems like there were broken bones. But also I got the feeling he actually could have over conditioned.

Consider yourself lucky that you can forget about his ruptured testicle. I can not.
