I don't get the excitement man.

I watched his highlight reel. Brought another guy to mind. One that most don't seem thrilled with.

Put this guy (and his .614 OPS vs lefties in 2025) in T-Mobile, and he's J.P Crawford v2.0.

Last year, and last 3 years numbers:
Consider how well he hits righties though and 3/4 of pitchers are righties. Also consider how remarkably consistent he is as opposed to JP.

That Tampa went after Williamson is interesting terms of his value. What other reason did they have to get involved other than liking him
Tampa tends to be smart about these things.
Some here like to view him as a failure but that was a tremendous leap he made last season after being drafted in 2023

So Donivan and Emerson will be starting infielders to go along with Patches and Naylor? What about Miller?

Yeah, he's a better lead-off hitter than JP with better defense.

That could play Donovan and Young at 3rd and 2nd. That they moved Williamson kinda locks them into one or the other

Brad Miller has been out of baseball since 2023 and hasn't been a Mariner since 2015 so I don't think he will be a factor. Bryce Miller is a SP so he will technically be in the infield once every 5 games.

Gone are the days when there was nary an opposing general manager that didn’t relish ripping off Jerry.

Chalk it up to the fact that after a series of lousy draft picks over the years, Jerry’s player development/evaluation team finally got it right.

Now they’re able to secure solid position players, from a position of strength, a rarity until the last few years.

This trade was a steal.

I bet you are a big Donovan fan Marty. .287 BA and only a 13% K rate. Plays great D all over the field. A gamer.

Trading Williamson does limit your infield options. If nothing else, Williamson had a high floor. Are you committed to Emerson at this point?. It's kinda like the Ford trade. Dipoto doesn't think much of depth

I think if you look at him as a prospect there's a lot to like. The defense gives him a floor.
