No..Clowney cannot keep up that level of play but the Dline as a unit can... Clowney has been putting forth the effort all year. It seems you have been so critical of coaching that when the scheme is productive you are forced to change your narrative.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 3:59 amI don't think anyone was breaking it down that way. I was asking how much of an impact people think it had on Clowney's game. I would like to believe that he'll be able to keep up that level of play but i'm doubtful of that. It seems that you and others here believe he can just go out there and do that whenever he wants to because it was all about effort and will-power or some defensive scheme that couldn't be implemented until Diggs was on the roster. I think there may have been more to it than that.Michael K. wrote: ↑Thu Nov 14, 2019 8:50 pmI think when you break it down this way it looks silly.
The Niners lost their starting Center and TE. Poor 49ers.
The Niners gained their two starting OTs. Poor 49ers.
Huh?

Re: Clowney NFC Defensive Player of the Week
he has been playing that way all season, go look at what he did in the Rams game, things came together in such a way in the 49ers game that gave him some notoriety, like the fumble TD, but its not him suddenly flipping a switch, that was Clowney out there, that is the way he plays

He has played at a high level most of this season, but has he been close to 10 QB pressures in any other game? That seems like an outlier to me and was curious what circumstances made that possible.

Nice strawman.
Re: Clowney NFC Defensive Player of the Week
The most this season was 11 by Watt. Clowney had 10. No one is getting that many pressures a game. There are no circumstances. Clowney is that talented.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 11:44 amHe has played at a high level most of this season, but has he been close to 10 QB pressures in any other game? WTF are you talking about? Go back and read my posts. You are the one throwing strawman arguments out there suggesting i am trying to make excuses for a team i don't give a crap about.

10 pressures a game? No one does that.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 3:49 pmSo he should be able to do it every game then i guess.

Think about it like a baseball player that hits 30-40 hrs a season hitting 3 in a game.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 3:49 pmSo he should be able to do it every game then i guess.

Doesn't the pitcher(s) he faced in that game have something to do with that?D-train wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 4:38 pmThink about it like a baseball player that hits 30-40 hrs a season hitting 3 in a game.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Fri Nov 15, 2019 3:49 pmSo he should be able to do it every game then i guess.
