So, we get to see new Mariners Torrens and France in action tonight. Looking into Torrens, he's a bit more exciting than I realized. He had an injury in 2015 it appears, and missed the entire season. Would have been his first full season of pro ball in the states. 2 years later he was claimed in Rule 5 and played 56 games in MLB, this after having just 50 AB above short season single A rookie ball, so his .163 Batting average in SD is somewhat understandable. In 2018 and 2019 he played high A and AA respectively (with a few games in MLB in 2019 as well). He his .280 and .300 in those seasons, with 15 HR and .873 OPS in AA last year in 97 games. All of this, and he's still only 24 years old. Not a bad pickup. His K rate last year in AA was 19%, and BB rate was about 12 % which is pretty encouraging.
Told ya my friend.
I liked the trade from the beginning, and Trammel was only a small percentage of the reason why. I like getting a highly touted guy, because if Julio and Kelenic both become studs, then he's good trade bait in the future. Getting a potential starting 3B and C as well for Nola an injured releiver and a bad reliever is crazy. Oh, and throw in a potential closer that throws triple digits.
And how about that exit velo on France's single. That would have broken a lot of speed limit on country roads around the country. ;)

Wasn’t Ephesus a city in Ancient Greece ?
According to legend, the Ionian prince Androclos founded Ephesus in the eleventh century B.C. The legend says that as Androclos searched for a new Greek settlement, he turned to the Delphi oracles for guidance. The oracles told him a boar and a fish would show him the new location.

One day, as Androclos was frying fish over an open fire, a fish flopped out of the frying pan and landed in the nearby bushes. A spark ignited the bushes and a wild boar ran out. Recalling the oracles’ wisdom, Androclos built his new settlement where the bushes stood and called it Ephesus.

Another legend says Ephesus was founded by the Amazons, a tribe of female warriors, and that the city was named after their queen, Ephesia.
