Ok thats fine if your not impressed that's your prerogative. It's just odd that you would try to use one of the most successful coaches in the history of the game as a comparison for why you are not impressed.

I see it as the the same issues I had with the Peterson hire.....Captain 97 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 6:08 pmOk thats fine if your not impressed that's your prerogative. So what, if he is great in the JV league. Can he sustain it in the majors (Power 5 conference).
This isn't just game planning for 2-3 game a season. In a power 5 conference you must be able to game plan for all 12 games, and Peterson didn't hack it. I truly hope Kalen can.

Really? I have a big problem with the way that Peterson just up and quit but I really don't understand how anyone could have a problem with him as a coach. He "hacked it better than any coach we have ever had other than Don James. Peterson won 10 or more games 3 years in a row. James never did that.Walla Walla Dawg II wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 6:12 pmI see it as the the same issues I had with the Peterson hire.....Captain 97 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 6:08 pmOk thats fine if your not impressed that's your prerogative. Yeah, point taken. I guess I compartmentalized recent PC and ignored his success in the past.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 6:08 pmOk thats fine if your not impressed that's your prerogative. Yeah, agree with that. I never understood how people could have an issue with a coach that took second tier recruits and Beat Oklahoma an other Power 5 schools.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 6:22 pmReally? Yeah we tend to have short memories and unrealistic expectations when it comes to coaches. Nobody is happy with the Hawks this year but for goodness sakes, the team hasn't had a losing record in a decade. Pete has been in the playoffs 8 of the last nine years and just won his 5th division title LAST SEASON. We've become so bored with success that we think Pete is the worst coach ever and an example of what to avoid. Meanwhile the Mariners haven't even won a wildcard spot in the last 20 years.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Dec 02, 2021 6:42 pmYeah, point taken. I was upset Pete quit, and don't understand his belief that the OC position is one someone should cut their teeth on, but I do remember WWD bitching about him being small time.
Name the last Pac 12 coach to coach in a Final 4. I'll wait.
One Final 4, on Rose Bowl, and 7 wins was considered horrible. Not sure how anyone could ever question that hire. I sure don't.
I like this one too. Offensive mind...and it is needed after Jimmy "Run the Damn Ball" Lake and the shit show that was his system.
Looking forward to seeing someone else take the defense too. Watching the Huskies and Seahawks lately? Just give up 12 and 15 play drives because they are scared shitless of the big play? Fucking gross.
As for me listing Utah with the group of teams we should have beaten? I guess the ASU game scared me so bad I remembered it twice. I stand by my statement, Morris flat out blew this year. And with a competint QB we are at least bowling this year. At best? Playing Utah this weekend.
