Nope. I no longer have time for intolerance. I don't have time for that ****. I don't have time for lack of empathy. I don't have time for lack of compassion. I don't have time for bigotry. I don't have time for willful ignorance. I don't have time for people that can't muster up even the most basic of human emotions.

If what you're going to have here is that, then I don't need it.

I can imagine that if a team like Manchester United for instance, decided to pick up and leave and go to Wales...how would that go down with the people of Manchester? Obviously that's never going to happen and I know this. It's a hypothetical and I'm sure you could probably give a better example, but my point is valid
There has only been 1 team relocate in the history of English football. The universally derided Milton Keynes Dons moved from Wimbledon about 25 years ago. It's pretty much impossible because it policed by promotion and relegation. Effectively someone could spend money on Tacoma, get them into the majors and win the World Series.

And the opposite can occur, Oakland would have been relegated to third tier or lower and be demoted to AAA or AA etc, so the blind spot for me is that they would have just faded away with their lack of investment.

My comment wasn't really directed at you however my point remains. I've been through too much **** in my life and even more so in the last 2 years to put up with that kind of **** anymore. Life is too short.

You're right. The go find another team to root for thing is tired and immature. Something that a 5 year old says.

So is calling a city a shithole and thereby denegrating all of the population there within.

The mariners are in existence because Seattle's original team, the pilots was moved after a single year of existence, they are now the Milwaukee Brewers. And the mariners were on the verge of getting moved as well. You should find a copy of "Ball Four" by JIm Bouton if you're interested.
Will do.

I really do wish baseball was universally available when I was growing up so I could have endured the pain with you all. Maybe the 3am starts is some kind of retribution for missing all the failure and doom until I "signed up"?

I think I have mentioned in the Sounders forum that being an England soccer fan has had similar pain and suffering to being a Mariner. Maybe that was the attraction? Nearly 60 years since winning the World Cup, before I was born. Doomed to be the "next time" country.

The Mariners are probably the most "British team" there could be. Hope you don't take that as an insult.

Some comments made are just though rivalry. We probably shouldn't be so rude about other cities and perhaps one or two of us showed that rivalry with them in the wrong way, they are baseball fans losing their team and there but for the grace of God eh?

But its still alright to slate Houston though isn't it

Referring to my "20 to 30 blokes in a pub", keep pulling up a chair to the table to make it 21 to 31. In time as well we would all love to hear about you as a person. We share our stories at the right times as well so when you are ready and confident with us all feel free.

My issue is him taking a giant crap all over those broken-hearted people losing their beloved team. OKC jerkoffs pulled the same kind of crap when the Sonics were taken away and it pissed me off being on the receiving end of it. Can't imagine doing it to other people.

Oh jeez...
Oakland is a shit hole. The coliseum is a shit heap.

And I'm just ignoring the stupid strawman about "denegrating the population," good God...

Though, maybe they could stop voting for failure over and over again.
