But, But, But....the Farm. Look how great the Farm is now! I've never understood the love affair for being having the best farm system. Sure, having a shitty Farm system sucks, but did we have to have a 26 year run of only making the playoffs twice to build the farm back up?

Cue the bullshit "Jerry wasn't here all 26 years". Nope, he wasn't. And he got a pretty damn good major league team that he tore down to the studs because he loves him some farm and only winning 54%. We should all feel lucky. Fucking toolbag, and the fact that so many seem to think he is just fine tells me all I need to know about how important it is to actually win here.

Speaking of 26, the player from The Farm that's been getting the most playing time is 26 year old Brock Rodden, who has shown exactly why at 26 he was still in the minor leagues.

Here's what The Farm has produced this season:

Cole Young in his second season doing reasonably well. He might well nail down second base for quite a while.
Colt Emerson faceplanting.
Lazaro Montes generating some excitement even though he strikes out half the time. Difficult to predict how it's going to go with him.
Michael Arroyo doing well so far, but given a full season in 2027 he'll probably struggle as he didn't exactly light up AAA.
Kade Anderson struggling but he seems like the kind of guy it's going to come together for, probably as early as 2027.
I don't think that Brock Rodden was a highly-regarded prospect, and he sucks.

So of the first five names, the only one who we can confidently say will be among the better ones at his position is Anderson. Emerson, Montes and Arroyo are big question marks (but again, loving what Arroyo's doing so far) and Young has the look of an above-average player. Not really encouring overall though and as we all know there are no guarantees with the next wave of prospects like Sloan, Celestin, Farmelo, Reese (who to his credit is off to an incredible start), etc.

So of course ownership and the front office are going to continue to trumpet The Farm while using cheap placeholder players in their positions until they're ready to join the club and other than Emerson be paid the minimum.
