Another point is that not a single person on the planet has defended this cop, he was almost instantly fired, arrested and charged and will likely spend decades in prison. So what are they protesting. Are that protesting that he was born and went crazy between then and now? Are they re-protesting past cases where cops got off? Or are they protesting that Prosecutors like Klobachar neglected to charge him and kick him off the force for his numerous prior violations? Only the latter makes sense but they can't touch that one because those prosecutors are likely all Dems like Amy.

I think 99% of this whole thing is just to do something that's not COVID-related. That's 99% of why people are out protesting, 99% of why the media is going wall-to-wall, and 99% why politicians are grandstanding.D-train wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2020 11:08 pmAnother point is that not a single person on the planet has defended this cop, he was almost instantly fired, arrested and charged and will likely spend decades in prison. Finally, a shiny-enough object came along to shift the focus. And nothing's shinier than "racial injustice," real or imaginary.

Someone will defend him, literally, because he IS innocent until proven guilty under the law. But yes, it's yet ANOTHER instance of a police officer killing an unarmed Black person. If this were a one off, I doubt there would be protests. And yes, "the system" has too often turned a blind eye. Including, as you say, the future Sen. Klobachar. (Trust me, there are a lot of Democrats who figuratively became ill when they found out about her record on this.) I say this being the grandson of a NYC cop. My best friend in high school also was a NYC cop. One thing I know is that the police have an incredibly strong culture that is wonderfully supportive of each other and distrustful of most others. Unfortunately, it can amplify attitudes and fail to weed out bad apples. From everything I have read, this cop was a bad apple. As you said, no one disagrees ... except maybe the people who are spreading the rumor that George Floyd didn't really die.D-train wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2020 11:08 pmAnother point is that not a single person on the planet has defended this cop, he was almost instantly fired, arrested and charged and will likely spend decades in prison. Re: OT- Riots, who is responsible?
Two things that I haven't seen anyone mention made this especially egregious imo and led to the nationwide meltdown. The first is that he had his hand in his pocket like he was just causally hanging out shooting the breeze vs. choking the life out of a fellow human. The second is that he was fully aware that he was being filmed by multiple people and did nothing to hide what he was doing or consider stopping like he actually believed that he wasn't doing anything wrong and wouldn't even be reprimanded for it. Absolutely bizarre and heinous.

Re: OT- Riots, who is responsible?
It is interesting to see the responses to my earlier question. Here is what I believe is the right answer to what a "win" is.
A "win" is that every person in the US lives their life to the best of their ability. Black, white, brown, yellow and red are all equal. Everyone in the US has the opportunity for a free public education. Yes, there are bad teachers and bad schools out there. However, there are about 95% better teachers and schools out there...go find one. Get education, work hard, and do your best. At the end of your high school days there are plenty of positive directions to go. Get better educated. Learn a trade, go to college, or join the millitary and learn self discipline and get your advanced education paid for by the US government.
You will, make mistakes. Own up to your mistakes and try and do better next time. Others will make mistakes as well, forgive their mistake and help them do better. Sometimes mistakes are huge and make you frustrated or angry. Don't turn their mistake into an even bigger one. Change the system from within, work hard to find common ground with those that have made you the angriest. There are always others watching your actions...show them the kind, loving person you are and they will want to emulate you.
Most of all, use your education to help those in your community, become a mentor to someone who needs positive guidance. Every person needs help along their journey, be that help for them.
Now would that not be a "win" for the whole country if every one followed those guidelines?

Same thing in Coeur d'Alene.Moe Gibbs wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2020 9:19 pmI heard that several armed citizens of Snohomish showed up to talk politics, keep each other company, maybe even wave at truck loads of Anarchists who failed to set foot on Snohomish City streets yesterday. Several concerned citizens had the trusty AR-15 type rifle. Looks like ANTIFA will find easier property to shit all over and destroy at one of those GUN FREE TOWNS THAT LIBERALS FEEL SO MUCH SAFER LIVING IN..!!
I'm thinking that city may be a good place to retire. Recently saw a house for sale there right on the lake. Sweeping, 180 degree view. 3 bedrooms, two baths, 2 car garage. $250,000. Far less taxes, 35 miles from Spokane.

Meanwhile, I'm in Diamond Bar, CA where absolutely nothing is going on, but because we're ever-so-barely in Los Angeles County we have a 6 p.m. curfew. Thanks, jerkwads. Well, like Milliken said, let's get through this social distraction and move on to the next one. Or more likely, the previous one.

I agree 100% MSM is to blame along with the "useful idiots= Intersectional feminist theory types that set this in motion over the past several decades..Moe Gibbs wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2020 2:18 pmThe Globalist controlled mass media is responsible. Blacks and Whites are taught every day on TV, Hollywood and in public schools that there is an epidemic of Blacks being killed without due cause by cops. They are being taught that race is imaginary and that Blacks are not any more prone to violence and making bad decisions [murder, rape, aids, infanticide] than any other race. Everything is the White Man's fault.
Having said that I stand with,( Kneel) with BLM. I can bring up countless youtube videos of crooked cops planting drugs on black folks who were doing nothing wrong. Well, except for being the victims of racially motivated police corruption. And,, that time that era needs to be in the rearview now.
