All five mariners starters are ranked in the top 20 terms of Cy Young oddsAccording to a tweet from Thomas Nestico (@TJStats on X), Moore had the third-lowest chase rate in the league at 17.7% and Crawford had the fifth-lowest at 18.2%
Logan Gilbert was given the fifth-best overall odds at +1600, while George Kirby checked in at +2000. Luis Castillo followed next at +2500 wihile Bryan Woo +3000 and Bryce Miller +3500, finished fourth and fifth, respectively
Which makes it criminal that ownership is not willing to support this generational pitching staff with at least a league average offense.
I honestly don't understand it. We know they're all about profits first but come on. If they made the playoffs and had a good run, and (gasp!) even made it to the WS for the first time, the money would be rolling in faster than they could count it. Just idiocy on the part of the owners.
My hatred and disdain for Stanton grows stronger every day.

The Mariners lose only the likes of Jorge Polanco, Josh Rojas, Luis Urias and midseason acquisition Justin Turner from an offense that last year posted a wRC+ of 104, including a league-leading wRC+ of 118 after August 15 when the M's led the American League in runs scored.TraderGary wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 9:25 amDonn Beach wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 1:05 amJosh Rojas signs with the white Sox

With current rosters, FanGraphs projects the Mariners sixth in the American League next season in team WAR:

The Mariners rank sixth in projected position player WAR and seventh in projected pitching WAR.
Like most teams, the Mariners look to improve this offseason.

It was 77° here yesterday. I couldn't believe it. Much warmer than the past few Marchs in Phoenix

So third place in the AL West and third wild card 7th year into the rebuild. Impressive we got here so quickly. Jerry should get another promotion an extension.harmony wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 3:01 pmThe Mariners lose only the likes of Jorge Polanco, Josh Rojas, Luis Urias and midseason acquisition Justin Turner from an offense that last year posted a wRC+ of 104, including a league-leading wRC+ of 118 after August 15 when the M's led the American League in runs scored.TraderGary wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 9:25 amDonn Beach wrote: ↑Fri Jan 03, 2025 1:05 amJosh Rojas signs with the white Sox

Unfortunately, I think the moves they will end up making eventually will be so underwhelming that watching paint dry would be preferrable. We all wish they would come to their senses and trade for Guerro and/or sign Alonso, Bregman, and Sasaki and call it WS bound but they don't have the cajónes for that.
