I USED TO BE A NORMAL PERSON...

As a man, I used to think I was pretty much just a regular person, but
I was born white, into a two-parent household which now, whether I
like it or not, makes me privileged, a racist, and responsible for slavery.

I am a fiscal and moral conservative, which by today's standards,
makes me a fascist because I plan, budget, and support myself.

I went to High School, got into college, and have always held a job.
But I now find out that I am not here because I earned it, but because I was “advantaged”.

I am heterosexual, which according to gay folks, now makes me a homophobe.

I am not a Muslim, which now labels me as an infidel.

I think and I reason, and I doubt much of what the ‘main stream’ media
tells me, which makes me a Right-wing conspiracy nut.

I am proud of my heritage and our inclusive culture, making me a xenophobe.

I believe in hard work, fair play, and fair compensation according to
each individual's merits, which today makes me an anti-socialist.

I believe our system guarantees freedom of effort – not freedom of
outcome or subsidies which must make me a borderline sociopath.

I believe in the defense and protection of my country, now making me a militant.

I am proud of our flag, what it stands for, and the many who died to
let it fly, so I stand during our National Anthem – which means that I must be a racist.

Please help me come to terms with the new me because I'm just not sure
who I am anymore!

And if all this nonsense wasn't enough to deal with, now I don't even know which
restroom to use.

Weren't we all. Identity requires a deeper understanding. Are we defined by the collapsing civilization or by the living God who knew us before the foundation of the world, created us to bring Him glory and live with Him in eternity. The Gospel changes everything. And is the only thing that can change us. Just sayin.

I don't know if any of you watch Landman. Yes, it's just a television show but the last episode was rather entertaining (and enlightening). Tommy's (Billy Bob Thornton's character) daughter Ainsley is a stunner with not much upstairs but a good heart, heads off to cheerleading camp and is put in a dorm room with a female that looks like a dude, owns a ferret, needs a safe space, meditates, is a vegan, etc. and outlines many rules (no noise allowed, no meat allowed, only responds to pronouns 'them' and they', etc.). The daughter is astounded and contacts her mother Angela (played by Ali Landry). She shows up, bails out her daughter (even invites the roommate to come along, which she refuses) and puts her in a hotel. Angela (who is a touch off the rails but has a huge heart) takes her daughter and classmates and friends to a resort hotel with a pool and tells them to have fun.

The daughter asks her mother why the roommate wasn't interested in joining them and the mother says it's because she doesn't want to have fun or make friends. The daughter thinks that's very sad. And the mother says that these types of people don't like themselves and that they want the entire world to change and cater to them so as not to hurt their feelings.

What makes it even more amusing is that the daughter and mother both fit the dumb blonde stereotype, but they make more sense than the roommate. Ainsley actually questions the roommate as to why she uses the pronouns 'them' and they' which indicate plural when there is only one of her.

It's an entertaining, fictional yet accurate example of why the world is the way it is these days.
