They have so many options and all they have done so far is add a 14th best reliever and 6th best 2B option and let people know they are out on Ohtani.

Yep, there are a lot of good options to put the team over the top.

I wish the Urias move didn't feel so Wong-y.

At least he's younger.

But still feels like we're just waiting on the next Pollock and La Stella to come "hat in hand" looking for a contract.

Even if they've come to their senses about using the DH position the right way, it feels like their ceiling is JD Martinez who would have been a good idea a few years ago, but now is too far past his prime to experiment with him in T-Mobile.

Everything points to keeping our expectations low imo.

I don't mind them not being able to sign a great free agent, I detest that they don't make any real effort to do that.
Like not even checking in on Judge last year and flat giving up on Ohtani before the signing period begins!

So insane that the Cards would rather sign FAs than trade good hitters for pitchers like everyone said they will...

In about three months, Dipshito will sit down with the local press and tell us that he "tried" to get some better bats for the offense, but the guys they went after signed with other clubs. No mention of who those mythical "guys" were. And we'll end up with two or three players that are a half a year away from retirement who had mediocre careers anyway. We'll once again be told that the best FA's are the cheapest. Which we all know, is Mariners Speak for "We're cheap and you should all know that by now! Be grateful that we win at a 54% clip!"

On the clock. I wish all FAs had a Jan. 4th deadline:

Eh... not sure how thrilled I'd be handing $10 million to a sumo wrestler with an ERA over 5.00 last season.

The Cardinals are probably pretty stupid if they don't trade their hitting depth for some pitching tbh.

I am not saying Lynn is great or even good, but it is a sign they might just fill their rotation with FAs. If you are cool with Marco as a 5th starter you should be fine with Lynn. He was a lot better with the Dodgers than Marco was with us last season.

Cardinals scored 719 runs, 39 less than the M's in 2023. Not sure if they should be shipping good bats with that offense but we shall see.
