Crawford is a .333 career hitter in June. I'll take the bust title off him when he proves he can sustain this effort and not end up at a .680 OPS when the season is done.bpj wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 9:16 pmStill have Crawford as a "bust"?IStillLoveTheMs wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 9:11 pmKelenic isn't a good prospect?AT Fresno wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 5:31 pm,
Haven't seen two great prospects yet.... White isn't one, Kelenic isn't one. France may be a good one, Trammell may be good. Crawford may turn out to be good. Maybe Raleigh will be good and JRod may be good or great.Maybe Kirby or Hancock or Gilbert will be good or great. Maybe Marte or Williamson or Querecuto will be great. When we see we have two great prospects playing for the M's... let's stop and build around them... In the meantime, better get some more ....

Even at his best like he is right now, Crawford is pretty much a middle of the road MLB shortstop. He is currently 13th in fWAR and 15th in OPS.

I intimated that Kelenic wasn't a great prospect. I guess that requires reading comprehension. The point was that we couldn't consider prospects great until they produced at the major league level.

At his age I'd hesitate to say "he's at his best".Captain 97 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 9:41 pmEven at his best like he is right now, Crawford is pretty much a middle of the road MLB shortstop. He is currently 13th in fWAR and 15th in OPS.
Plenty of time/room to fill out and improve.
Least of our problems, but still a potential problem.
Already an average SS.

Re: SS on JK
He's 26 and half. That's not that young. The average player achieves their peak WAR at age 27. Four of the Shortstops ahead of him in fWAR are 26 or younger. 1 is 27 and another 4 are 28. So of the guys that are in his general age group he is 10th in fWAR.bpj wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 9:53 pmAt his age I'd hesitate to say "he's at his best".Captain 97 wrote: ↑Wed Jun 09, 2021 9:41 pmEven at his best like he is right now, Crawford is pretty much a middle of the road MLB shortstop. He has room to improve and is already average before he hits his prime. That's what I said.

It's almost a year after this original post and they're still doing the exact same thing with Kelenic- just give him some time! Lol.Jack Merridew wrote: ↑Fri May 13, 2022 4:35 amWhat's gotcha all hot'n bothered toots?
Dipoto talking about how his defense, baserunning and attitude are all redeeming qualities, meanwhile the kid is still just as bad as ever.
