All I'm saying is that he'll do better than Marlowe. The 416 PA this year is a reasonable sample size. It's likely that he's improved. I wouldn't be opposed to trading Kelenic, but if they do, they need to get someone better. Not like getting Wong to play over Moore/Haggerty/Callabero.
And I disagree. Marlowe outperformed him. Even his down month was better than Kelenics down months.

If they don't go with a new acquisition, they shouldn't pencil Kelenic in a starting spot.
I disagree with that, it's too small of a sample size. Besides, given the differences in minor leagues, Kelenic has more upside.
Yeah, he just needs more time. Like the rest of the prospects that end up washing out after big expectations.

Jesus Montero and Mallex Smith say hi.

And both of them have a higher OPS than Kelenic.

It's like the shortened 2020 season, which began during summer. Some hitters did well since it was hot, though I give them credit for coming out the gate hot. This season Marloew played in the majors during the hot months, against some teams like KC, the White Sox, Oakland, LAA. The M's did face some tougher teams, but it's better to use a lager sample size. Plus it's not only stats, the scouting reports favor Kelenic. I wouldn't be against trading Kelenic.

Oh, well if the scouts say so I guess that settles it.

We'd better move Julio out of center field too since he'll never have the speed for it according to the scouts.

If we weren't going into year 5 of the Kelenic experiment he might get a little leeway. But he's been terrible all along, and he gave zero reason to give them hope after coming back to save the season.

He had a .653 OPS after returning from kicking the bucket. All that to go along with his .656 career OPS.

He's dogpoo.

JK was worth 2.0 bWAR and 1.3 fWAR in 105 games, and that's with both systems giving him negative marks for his defense, which I don't really understand though I assume has some validity. I don't think it's a stretch for them to keep him, but he's obviously tradeable and it's very possible the organization may want to move on after the water cooler incident. For my part, I still like the player, but the circumstances of the injury have to affect the evaluation. You have to wonder about the level of pressure he's putting on himself, and how all of that gunk in his head may be working against him. I think this one of the possible downsides of kids specializing in one sport early on and not having a more well-rounded childhood and teenage experience.

Oh, well since Marlowe's 100 PA is so great, let's trade him for Juan Soto. Need to get some cash back though.

I never said to use only the scouts report. Additionally people know that international scouting reports need to be doubly taken with a grain of salt, and even moreso, a report taken when a player is 16 or 17 years old.

Besides I was speaking to his upside, and while it's not as bright as before, your argument doesn't make a difference.

Sounds like a good idea!

Kelenic is a trashy little bitch.

It is funny this guy is a total M's homer but anti Kelenic. Unique dude to say the least. I met him at Citifield and offered to buy him a beer but he wanted hot black coffee on an 85 degree day. Strange cat.

Here are the 85 Mariners with 950+ PAs. With another hot April he should be able to catch Mike Zunino for 84th highest BA. lol
