I don't know... It's more than just stopping backing up, to get anything on the throw he needs to be moving towards home plate, like this

But looking at, it was high enough where he could have perhaps backpedaled and then ran in for the catch and throw. Terms of being cool, that be the thing to do, show off your arm.

I don't know... It's more than just stopping backing up, to get anything on the throw he needs to be moving towards home plate, like this

But looking at, it was high enough where he could have perhaps backpedaled and then ran in for the catch and throw. Terms of being cool, that be the thing to do, show off your arm.

The next day he made an incredible diving catch and almost hosed the runner at home.

He is one of the best defenders in baseball. Had 12 defensive runs saved last year.

One silly play doesn't make a man and it's so dumb to focus on it as a problem.

Sure Robert could be a bargain at $20 mil or he could strain his hip flexor again running to first base, who knows. Hey, I don't have a problem with getting Robert. The biggest thing is there is ZERO downside. Unless he was on a OF throw count???

I think they're willing to add significant payroll if it makes sense.

Perhaps trading a good chunk of the farm and spending $34 million for 1 year of Juan Soto is not a trade they'd bite on.

But 3 years of Robert for $12.5 million, then 2x years at $20 million? Perhaps the control and manageable money tickles their fancy more.

That wasn't the issue. We were discussing whether he should have thrown home on that one play. If he's such a great defender that makes it even worse than he didn't get off a throw there. Also, it was a walk-off situation.
