traded up for LockettMichael K. wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 3:16 pmSeems like one year they traded back a few times and then traded up to get someone. But I don’t remember who it was.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 2:30 amhe fell but JS also traded up to get him, he can trade up as well as trading down
This might be the year for the inaugural first round trade up.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 2:08 amtraded up for LockettMichael K. wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 3:16 pmSeems like one year they traded back a few times and then traded up to get someone. Yep they are the first round geniuses and everyone else that trades up are idiots.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 1:17 pmI doubt it, i think it be a function of diminishing returns. The cost of moving up in the first round would be too steep to justify the possible gain in talent at that level of the draft, that is figuring there is not that great a talent disparity at that level.
Depends if they botch signing Clowney. There has to be multiple contingency plans in place. One of them would be to trade up and land a pass rusher.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 1:17 pmI doubt it, i think it be a function of diminishing returns. okay, show me the evidence of the geniuses trading up as opposed to trading down, you don't like their first round selections, ok but how is trading up the solution exactly? They give up three of their picks only to bomb on another first round selection..sounds like a plan. Far as I am concerned, their lack of success in the first round is all the more reason to trade out of the first round as opposed to throwing more value at it. If they are better at picking in the middle rounds then why not get even more middle round picks?D-train wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 1:54 pmYep they are the first round geniuses and everyone else that trades up are idiots.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 1:17 pmI doubt it, i think it be a function of diminishing returns. Thats one way to look at it. Another way is to consider that their lack of success is that they are always picking at spots 25-32 and moving up might solve the problem. Most try to switch things up to fix a lack of success.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 2:48 pmokay, show me the evidence of the geniuses trading up as opposed to trading down, you don't like their first round selections, ok but how is trading up the solution exactly? Could they have still landed DK if they traded up?. See I think Seahawks target a high risk player. And they figure no other team is going to touch this guy 1st round so they trade back unless there is someone that is high on their draft board. In 2018 Penny was high on their board so they took him. Last season they knew they could draft DK later so they traded down.D-train wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 6:12 pmIf they had just kept their first pick at 21 they could have drafted free safety Darnell Savage instead of Blair. If they traded up to 17 they could have picked DT Dexter Lawrence. Or if they got crazy they could have moved to 16 and picked Brian Burns who had 2x the sacks as our 2019 sack leader.
Instead they traded down and picked a guy that looks like the worst 1st round pick of the PC JS era and that is saying something.
