Its a bad situation because you have a passionate fanbase who are a relative small minority of the population pitted against people that parrot out the "Billionaire owners should have to pay for their own playpens" Seems the latter group has been winning lately thus the Hockey arena built without public contribution. (of course they we get theirs when it is all said and done) But I am sure there will be a city willing to help fund it led by those that realize there is more to life than money.

I guess I dumbed it down too much. Some people are less penny wise and pound foolish than others and realize investing is Sports teams has long term benefits both in terms of Societal benefits of creating a city that is more attractive to live and easier to lure additional new businesses in order to broaden the tax base.
