Re: SS on JK
It’s not even player development lol... an OPS in the 400’s is just total head case mode. They are so paralyzed mentally that they can’t even perform the basic functions of a replacement level player despite having all the talent in the world.
I get the feeling that a lot of Kelenic’s confident boasts are a front. He has a YouTube channel and the entire time he acts like this ultra cool dude who is the next coming of Ruth but deep down I think he’s really unsure of himself. You can’t come up here and fail this spectacularly w.o huge levels of doubt swimming around your head.

No surprise there. And it can't be coincidence that nearly every position player that goes on to another team seems to be below or average after four seasons out of the Mariner Organization. Short of Griffey, ARod, and Big Papi, Omar and Raul, its a very short list of good players.AT Fresno wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 5:00 pmWell, let's just say the Mariners haven't earned any respect for developing players....Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 2:53 pmThe dirty little secret around MLB apparently is that the M's are a laughingstock with regard to player development. Seems believable to me. What else would explain it?

Yeah if it was a development issue he would have washed out in WV Modesto, Ark or even T town. Zero issues until he stood a top the ancient Native American Burial Grounds that T mobile was built upon.IStillLoveTheMs wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 5:05 pmIt’s not even player development lol... an OPS in the 400’s is just total head case mode. Nah. We own a condo in Peoria, so spring training is a must. Love the sun in AZ in from October to May. We have every intention of becoming full fledged Snowbirds by the time we are 60.D-train wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 1:55 pmYou are a rare duck. Possibly a Unicorn. As for not watching the M's any longer. We're now with Hulu and they don't carry many sports channels. When the M's are on one of the ESPN channels, we watch, until we're discussed with their play and lack of talent, but we do try.
Spring training is about seeing all the non-all-star talent and having a drink in the sun and grass.
Re: SS on JK
We will be there again next Spring. You and yours should stop by for one of our BBQs.

Lewis played in a two month season and had one good month. Many a Mariner hitting prospect had one good month. I said it all off season. His second month after a hot month? Jeremy Reed, Dusty Ackley, Jeff Clement, Jesus Montero, Mike Zunino...who am I missing?D-train wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 5:03 pmOddly I am pretty confident the pitchers will do well. Zero faith in any of the hitters after the last two. Even Lewis has be shaky.AT Fresno wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 5:00 pmWell, let's just say the Mariners haven't earned any respect for developing players....Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 2:53 pm

How do you fix this? Leave them in AAA until they've had "x" at bats? Is it strategic? Like how they're approaching hitting - game plan, etc? How are so many of these "cant miss" prospects shitting themselves at T-Mobile Park?Michael K. wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 8:05 pmLewis played in a two month season and had one good month. Jason Varitek, Tino Martinez, Luis Valbuena, Asdrubal Cabrera, Adam Jones, Sin Shoo Choo, Adrian Beltre, Chris Taylor, Ketel Marte, Nelson Cruz. Even Mark Trumbo hit 47 Bombs the year after Dipoto traded him away.ddraig wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 5:08 pmNo surprise there. Short of some kind of witch doctor ritual removing the curse? I think you have to look long and hard at coaching. There seems to be no shortage of talented players that can't make it. Some never recover, others leave and recover. That would seem to make me think it isn't all on talent evaluation and at least most of it blamed on a lack of development.WoodinvilleCoug wrote: ↑Wed Jun 02, 2021 8:38 pm
