And even though we have well respected coaches down on the farm, there may be some systemic, overarching mandates from "on high" to develop position players in a way that is detrimental to the player's development. But with so many GM's over the years, how can this organization be so piss poor at developing good players? It has been trying to do so for over 40 years and they have developed only a handful of truly great players, some good players, and some average players. Most of these above average players became so AFTER they left the organization. Thus, we have become the AAAA farm team for all the other clubs. They take our cast-offs and rejects and transform them. How is that possible?
Well respected...

I just heard the Mariners added Shawn O'Malley as a hitting coach.

I mean come on...
Carreer (is three years a career?) batting average of .231. He actually hit .234 in the two years he spent with the M's and honestly, if JK could end the year hitting .231 I'd be impressed!

Why was everyone so sure that Kelenic was a can't miss player who was ready for the show? Looking back at his minor league numbers, he has played well but not overwhelmingly great in the minors. .838 OPS in A+ .857 OPS in AA, We have 6 guys in Everett and 3 guys in Arkansas that are putting up similar numbers or better right now. Granted he was at those levels at a younger age but In reality his minor league production is not all that different than guys like Evan White, Jake Fraley and Jose Marmolejos. Its not like he was just dominating and playing head and shoulders above everyone else. Did everyone just get caught up in unfounded hype?
One should never question The Great Kelenic! Actually, you should never question ANY young player before they've had their "time" if you listen to the guys around here.

Kelenic's talent, especially as a corner outfielder- has been questioned around these parts. It's just that nobody likes to hear it.

Yeah I wondered the same thing. Reminded me of Ackley in that sense. Ackley only had a .802 OPS in the minors. He is a top ten pick so he has to be great right. Hit .253 in Ark. A handful of games in AAA later he is in the show.

On when they send The kid down

They could have easily left him in Seattle when they left for Southern California but I’m sure they were convinced the kid was gonna turn it around and there would be no need to demote.

Now they wait till after they return to Seattle and all the while he gets worse

What an organization

An unorganization is a more appropriate description.

We fucking scratch and claw and eek out 1 run in a 15 minute 27 pitch inning and they tie it up on one pitch.

You are a rare duck. Possibly a Unicorn. Guessing the number of people that only watch ST baseball could fit in a Chinese phone booth.
Nah. We own a condo in Peoria, so spring training is a must. Love the sun in AZ in from October to May. We have every intention of becoming full fledged Snowbirds by the time we are 60.

As for not watching the M's any longer. We're now with Hulu and they don't carry many sports channels. When the M's are on one of the ESPN channels, we watch, until we're discussed with their play and lack of talent, but we do try.

Spring training is about seeing all the non-all-star talent and having a drink in the sun and grass.
If you want to watch the games try this out. you can watch them all live for free. I hook my chrome book up to the TV with an HDMI cable and its good to go.

What's nice about this site is you can choose "Home feed" or "Away feed" thus avoiding Dave Sims. :D

You can do the same on the MLB app. Sims is cringe worthy at times, but for Logan's start, I had to switch back from the Angels broadcast of Mark Gubizca....GOOD GOD AWFUL!!!

Looks like Kelenic back to AAA and Shed Long called up. Hopefully Shed can capitalize on the opportunity to become our 2B if Moores dead.

Pretty weird how we don't hear many updates on these injured guys.

So we have to wait until September to see the great Chris Davis' record broken?
