BTW, Sheffield is out with a flexor strain and a grade 2 oblique strain.
Sad we got no one to take sheffs spot. We need to make a trade for a pitcher or Santiago takes his spot.

Sadly, we lost the series against these assholes, but the win today sure felt good for several reasons. Number one, we really needed this one. And number two, what can you say about Gilbert's coming out party. Absolutely dominant today, and the scary thing is he's only going get better with more experience.

Once Dunn gets healthy and replaces Sheff who's an absolute train wreck right now, we have Gilbert, KK, Flexen, Gonzalez, and Dunn. Not a bad 1-5.
Sheff is out for months, maybe even the rest of the season. Another victim of the the dreaded 6 man rotation. lol
Yeah that 6-man rotation really worked out well for them didn't it? At least they've finally scrapped it according to an article I read recently. I hope it's permanent.

Which he knew about a week or so ago but didn't want to tell anyone.

By the way, Terry, you are only a few years older than I am and I don't see it happening unless ownership man's up and gives whoever our GM is the money to plug obvious holes. The bean counters need to get out of the baseball side of things!

1B, 3B, DH, and at least one TOR pitcher. I can live with whoever we trot out there on any given day as 2B.

If 2 of Hancock, Williamson, Kirby and Campbell work out, then 2022 will be fun. If 3-4 work out, watch out for the Mariners

How does a closer with era under1 not make asg? O yea they like bigger names more. Graveman way better then Chapman and a few of those other relievers. All star snub. They just like bigger names. Horrible.
Not bigger names, but clubs with more winning history and less suckage for the past 40 years.

Flex pitched on four days rest and they acted like they made him pitch all 18 innings of a double header. Sheff KK and Gilbert all pitched on 5 days rest. Marco and Flex will be on 5 days rest tomorrow and Saturday. They need to find some one for Sunday but none of the current rotation will have more than 3 day rest so they will need to find a new starter or go with another BP game. Then the AS break and they don't have to worry about it for another 10 days or so.

Gilbert dominated today. He came in with a 2.88 ERA over his last 5. He is now at a 2.37 over his last 7 starts including a 2 inning rain out. This dates back to his last May start, all of June, and the 1st two of July. I saw him gunning 97 and 98 all day with a nice slider as his bread and butter. I also saw a few changes thrown in but he is looking good.

Next time we play the Spanks, we need to throw Flexen, Dunn and Gilbert at them. All three are righthanders.

I'm in the same boat as you guys, and I wonder the same thing.

Regarding 1B, France can handle that along with White when he returns.

For 3B, unfortunately I don't think we're going to be able to unload Seager unless we pick up the vast majority of his salary. He's been pretty bad, and striking out a ton. I think we're stuck with him till the end of the year, unfortunately.

For DH, I think we can get Cruz for a mid-level prospect. The fans love him, and I think he likes it here also. He would really add a dimension to this lineup that we're currently missing.

I agree that we need to add a TOR pitcher. Don't really have any names to throw out there yet, but I'm sure others here do.

We really need some of these guys to start swinging the bats closer to their norms. The only way we score any runs is on the occasion HR. We need more consistency from pretty much everyone the lineup. The only one showing any consistency with the bat is Crawford.
