But we all need to realize that, those were different times, and to judge the history with todays standards isn't fair.

It's called "Presentism." Looking at history through our biased eyes today. That is why the country was founded on "racist" values because they didn't outlaw slavery in 1776. Of course there would have been no country had they done so because the four Southern States would bot have joined the Revolution. So a compromise had to be found. Without the Southern States, no United States. Most signers of the Declaration and the Constitution were against slavery and presumed, erroneously, that the institution would die out within 40 years. The evil cotton gin prolonged the "peculiar institution."

If you are going to analyze history, you have to do it through the lens of those who were there, NOT through our own eyes! Otherwise the view becomes distorted and incorrect.

That is a good point. How different was 1957 or 1965 from today? So LBJ is freely using the N word in private and he supposedly is a liberal. I assume that means that racist language was pretty prevalent. My question about history is how and when did that change? The cynic in me says that racists just cleaned up their language.

Interesting reading them. LBJ was a complex character, but some of the quotes show how deeply racism was imbedded in his way of looking at the world.

I don't know what countries were described as shitholes, but since Nigeria was mentioned: I've been there 3 times for business. High rises, parks, excellent restaurants, welcoming people. I know that is not the entire picture. There is horrible environmental pollution. Islamist terrorists control much of the north of the country and there have been atrocities against women and girls. But economic development is lifting many people out of poverty. It's a complicated place but I don't know why a president of the United States (or any other world leader) would dismiss Nigeria that way.

Nobody has posted Biden is racist because of voter ID cards. The opposite, your side thinks requiring voter ID is racist. Because you live in clownworld.

We aren't pushing anything. There is an ongoing audit happening- and more starting- that you losers want to ignore and act like they're meaningless. Your little feelings don't matter. The audit is happening whether we draw attention to it or not.
