I think that Biden said that just because SOME democrats want to "defund the police" does not mean that the majority of democrats want to defund the police. And that is analogous to: just because SOME republican believe there is a blood quaffing cabal of the rich and powerful does not mean that a majority of republicans believe that.

A survey by PRRI (Public Religion Research Institute) earlier this year https://www.prri.org/research/qanon-con ... cs-report/ reported that 23% of Republican agree with this statement: “the government, media, and financial worlds in the U.S. are controlled by a group of Satan-worshipping pedophiles who run a global child sex trafficking operation.” 14% of independents agree with that, and 8% of Democrats agree with that.

HB is a "bit" over the top, which is why I typically don't even read what he says. But then, Woodenville Coug is of the same ilk, just on the other end of the spectrum.

I don't think that's entirely true. Coug is certainly left of center....maybe even far left, but he is mostly wanting to cause trouble so he exaggerates everything about what he truly believes.

The US population is roughly 350 million. Based in Gil's logic and his 'data' and his conclusion drawing, that means roughly 50 million US citizens actually believe this? You cannot seriously believe that. I doubt 50 million have ever even heard of this. Have you crunched the data of the people they 'polled' for this? What was their make up? Were they the same polls that had Hillary at 90% winning the election? I laughed out loud at your drawing a conclusion that 15% of the population believe this. That is utterly absurd. I can't believe someone would even consider that. There is a faction of the hard right that are all hard core biblical, and they may believe that stuff, so maybe 15% of that tiny fraction of the population, but of the general population? This is exactly why I can't take the left seriously. "Oh, a poll said it - it MUST be a fact" without even considering any context like who was polled, who was doing the polling, the error rates, etc etc etc. Nope, just "15% of the population must believe this because I read it on the interwebs on some ultra obscure site" while in the same breath mocking anyone else who would cite an obscure poll to push a moderate or right-leaning narrative.

Now, ask the same question about the small circle of people who ACTUALLY run the world, and it may approach 15%.
