He has a good fastball and slider, looks like he favors the lower range of the strikezone which makes him vulnerable to the long ball. He is agonizingly slow with his delivery..... which means when he steps to the rubber the game grinds to almost a halt.... It looks like we are due for a reincarnation of the Rodney experience, except Rodney has been at the buffet table gouging himself in his absence.Sibelius Hindemith wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 3:05 pmSo what's the deal with Castillo? When the trade was made all i heard here is that he is a really solid late-game reliever, better than Graveman, now all i'm hearing is that he is out of shape, slow, and has low spin rates on his pitches.
Do you have confidence in Dipoto? or his plan?

Billy Beane and crew are doing something right in Oakland.
We've outspent them for the last 20 years and never made the postseason.
They've made 10 trips in that span.
We are like the little brother that gets all the handmedowns of MLB...GM's, coaches, players.
Angels kicked JD to the curb.
We picked him up and his side kick SS who had never coached before that.
They can pick em' they just can't get em' ready for the show.
Farm is better yes but we haven't exactly met the endgoal have we?
2015-2021 Jerry owns that.
He might be a good stats guy but he sucks as people person.
These latest moves imho back that up.
So do I have confidence in Jerry Dipoto? Never really did. He has yet to change my mind.
I like some of the young ball players we have right now. Will they win despite the incompetence of management? Who knows?
This last road trip was an absolute face plant by the bullpen. Coincidental? I think not.

20 years! Soon to be 21 and still counting. The laughingstock of North American pro sports.

You had to remind me of effing Rodney. Man, I hated that guy......if this guy is the reincarnation of him, I just might have to jump off the nearest cliff.

I can't agree with this more. This org just doesn't know how to win or cares to. Ownership has to change.Big Mike wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 7:40 pmAbsolutely100% spot on post.seattlefan-daBronx wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 2:58 pmFor me it's not about the money. It's about smart decisions.

I have confidence in Dipoto and the plan. Where we were at the end of 2018 compared to where we are now, is light years better. I will wait and see how the end of 2021 and 2022 finish out before I cast any stones or anger. After that, it's "No Holds Barred!"

I agree, he's done about a 270 degree turn in the last few years. If they don't treat next season like it's the beginning of their window, I'll revolt. Again.Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 10:00 pmI have confidence in Dipoto and the plan. Where we were at the end of 2018 compared to where we are now, is light years better. Me too. Rodney Fernando took YEARS off of my life. I should be on his medical plan.XpertDBA wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 9:06 pmAT Fresno wrote: ↑Mon Aug 02, 2021 3:17 pmHe has a good fastball and slider, looks like he favors the lower range of the strikezone which makes him vulnerable to the long ball. I have always felt that his rebuild plan is a scam to buy a few extra years on his contract.
