Normally I would agree, but they threw it three times in OT...that isn’t Pete not letting Russ have a chance. The ball was squarely in Russ’s hands and he flat out choked. We needed about forty yards to kick the game winner, and after three passes had lost like 15! Was awful. And two timeouts and over 30 seconds left, and only needing about 30 yards to get into range for the game winner? Choked there too.Gametime wrote: ↑Mon Sep 20, 2021 2:25 amWe just have to realize it is what it is. It isn't going to change. It was fine when we had the best defense on the earth. But, Adams isn't as good as our last All Pro Safety and the rest of the defense isn't as good as that defense. But, Pete still coaches as it is. So, year after year after year it is the same. we are good, just not good enough.
The facts are the facts. The results since the elite D is in stone. Russ isn't good enough without the elite D. He just can't. He wants to, he wants to be the best. He just isn't. And Pete can't adjust without that elite D.
Russ is sure a really good QB, just isn't even in the same hemisphere as the best. Top 7-8 absolutely. He can't hold Pat Mahomes clipboard.Michael K. wrote: ↑Mon Sep 20, 2021 2:43 amNormally I would agree, but they threw it three times in OT...that isn’t Pete not letting Russ have a chance. I thought it was pretty telling that on the road, the normally gutsy Titans kicked the extra point and played for OT. They had no fear of us being able to beat them in OT. Yikes, in our house.
RW needs to stop counting his chickens and hire Marshawn for his mentals.DavidGee24 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 20, 2021 12:47 amI kind of think it was more on Wilson. He really has become an un-clutch player. Terrible decisions, terrible throws, the stuff he was doing late in games last year. You didn't see Tannehill doing what Wilson was doing.
Unfortunate? How about unacceptable? It was lack of discipline on the part of multiple players, and it's been a problem under your leadership for years, Pete.“Most difficult loss for us today,” said Carroll, the Seahawks head coach. “We did so many good things and then we really hurt ourselves just too many times when you’re playing a good team. The penalties were just so costly, so many first downs on penalties when we really had control over the situation, and it was really unfortunate that we weren’t poised enough.”
