Your bench is primarily going to be used for pinch running and defensive substitutions. Torrens is not good at either of those things. I don't think you can afford to keep a guy on your bench whose only value is as a pinch hitter.
Yes my bench would be but not their bench. They love to play bench players like 5 times a week

Torrens will likely be the almost full-time DH. I'm sure they'll check on his catching in ST and then they'll realize they don't want him there, so he'll be the DH and backup 1B/3B.

Exactly how I see it. They're not going to spend on a d h either

It could work out. He's 25 with 611 ML PAs, and seemed to improve as the year went on. The next few years should be his best provided he stays healthy.

Have you tried https://www.baseballtradevalues.com/ not perfect but a good sanity check. This is what it comes up with for that trade.

I put in Juan Then as a mid level prospect: A's still think they are getting punked if JD makes that offer. Note that White has NEGATIVE value.

What I'm getting at is maybe we could package Toro, for a better player in return. Olson only has 2 years remaining on his contract. I doubt Oakland ponies up the cash to re-sign him. I'd love to get his left handed bat in this stadium and onto our roster somehow. It would replace the left handed power numbers and then some lost by Seager.
Yes, others have suggested Olson as well. Would need to move France to 3B but that might work well. Just need to offer more to get him. Here is an example:

I don't care who we give up for Olson. I just want to see it get done. Semien has been on my radar since before he left Oakland, so I'm glad to see a bunch of people agree with me on that. I also have like J. Ramirez just as long and like the fact he could be flexible enough to play 2B, 3B, or 1B just like France and Semien could. However neither of those hitters are left handed, but Ramirez is at least a switch hitter. And Olson gives Seattle a bat from the left side of the plate that more than replaces the absence of Seager. All 3 of those players are high on my wish list.

Furthermore, do not trade Noelvi Marte under any circumstances. This ballclub will greatly regret it. I couldn't live with a Fernando Tatis Jr. escaping from us.

What convinces you that Marte will be that level of player?

The fact that he's the 11th best prospect ranked in baseball tells me that he's got a pretty good shot to be. Nothing is a guarantee in this industry, nothing. For me though, he's untouchable.

Marte and Rodriguez are both untouchable.... Marte is like a man among boys already... they have both risen to our #1 and #2 prospects...
