Cahna's .358 OBP is good but his .387 SLG is weak as F in this day an age for a COF. Total sideways move. If he is the fourth add to the lineup then fine.Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Thu Nov 04, 2021 8:44 pmI Canha believe the Jays are actually gonna go for Ramirez!AT Funchal-Madeira wrote: ↑Thu Nov 04, 2021 8:30 pmSo I just got done watching another video today outlining the plan for the Toronto Blue Jays who plan to lose both Robbie Ray and Marcus Semien to free agency but now feel they have the prospects to make a viable trade offer to the Indians/Guardians for ..... Canha is such a great OBP guy. If we had Canha and France bat 1-2 everytime in the order, we'd always have the first two guys on base to start the game every night.
This just triggered my a painful memory of my same excitement in seeing Ichiro and Figgins together. I thought we'd see three double-steals a game.
It turned out the only double steals were actually "donkey" cashing a paycheck twice a month!
Give me Scherzer, Verlander, or Greinke. No long term burdens there.

Yeah I'm not high in Canha either. Was merely just joking around. I'd rather have S. Marte personally.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Nov 04, 2021 9:10 pmCahna's .358 OBP is good but his .387 SLG is weak as F in this day an age for a COF. Total sideways move. I'm skeptical of Verlander because his spin rate was the product of "goo" Iricho fell out of favor for me after 2004 because he almost never worked a count, and Figgins was an absolute bust once the outfielders started playing him shallow...
Altuve has begun to lose his OBP because he is becoming both pull happy and very aggressive, but when he gets on base he is a lethal scorer.... I think he scored in the post season against Atlanta something like 20 out of 24 times he got on base...
Jeter was a tremendous leadoff hitter both as a pitch count wrecker and hitting to all fields.. Crawford is showing some signs of moving in that direction. I haven't watched Canha much, but the A's are a lot like the Yankees and Astros in that they work counts as a part of their overall team strategy...
This is such an interesting post season with the amount and quality of free agents, teams like Detroit and the Mariners , Yankees, Padres ready to wheel and deal, .... lots of expectations..just adding Semien and Ray would add 10 War to the M's (minus Seager's 3 War), but the M's have become too right handed so theres that. If we added Semien, I'd also want to add Reynolds in a trade with the Pirates and maybe a better option than Murphy at catcher...

Dipoto said that we would be aggressive in trades early. I'm over here refreshing the comments section like its the trade deadline.AT Funchal-Madeira wrote: ↑Thu Nov 04, 2021 9:17 pmI'm skeptical of Verlander because his spin rate was the product of "goo" Iricho fell out of favor for me after 2004 because he almost never worked a count, and Figgins was an absolute bust once the outfielders started playing him shallow...

I'll be happy with Semien and/or Kris Bryant. But you are correct. We need a lefty hitter(s) badly.
I can see Kikuchi going to the Rays.
I wouldn't mind seeing Seattle going after Collin McHugh or maybe Andrew Chaffin.

Billy Beane spotted leaving T-Mobile Park last night. Coincidence?
I picture that scene from Cleveland when Brad Pitt goes to Cleveland and meets with the Indians GM Mark Shapiro, played by Reed Diamond.
I think this rumor is fake, but who really knows.

Looks like my sorting didn't hold. Just need to click on the column heading to resort.ice99 wrote: ↑Thu Nov 04, 2021 11:29 pmNo, not by Projected WAR.D-train wrote: ↑Thu Nov 04, 2021 9:07 pmThanks Ice. Never heard of Reed Diamond but he now looks familiar. I am 27 days older than him with a much less cool name. That's his real name btw.Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Fri Nov 05, 2021 11:30 amBilly Beane spotted leaving T-Mobile Park last night. Coincidence?
