What?.... that is about as homer a trade suggestion as I've seen, let's clean out the players we don't have use for and get Matt OlsenBut what would it take to get him? I think the conversation STARTS with Voit, Domingo German and Gleyber Torres. I
Let's go Brandon!!Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 6:16 amI think Williamson is the biggest prize at the moment out of those three. That would be the hardest one for me to swallow at this point, but I'd gladly do it for M. Olson, as I think acquiring a left handed power bat is more crucial than a SP that could possibly be had in free agency. I would try to trade Stoudt or Hancock though before Williamson if I could. I've been hearing great things about Brandon from Baseball America. He was a steal in the 2nd Rd.
And still blows away any offer we can make if we hang onto all of our top prospects.Donn Beach wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 8:29 amWhat?.... that is about as homer a trade suggestion as I've seen, let's clean out the players we don't have use for and get Matt OlsenBut what would it take to get him? Chapman is a RH version of Seager, just someone to complain about. We need LH batD-train wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 3:07 pmStory on the A's. Olson isn't an option but maybe Chapman.

What makes you say Olson isn't an option?D-train wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 3:07 pmStory on the A's. Olson isn't an option but maybe Chapman.

It likely means the departure of All-Star infielders Matt Olson and Matt Chapman, who should bring in a horde of prospects. They each are eligible for salary arbitration for the second time this winter, and are under club control through the 2023 season.
Because we will be competing with GMs that aren't idiots that realize hoarding their top prospects is idiotic.bpj wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 5:42 pmWhat makes you say Olson isn't an option?D-train wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 3:07 pmStory on the A's. Olson isn't an option but maybe Chapman.

Agreed, but the equalizer is that we're also competing with GM's whose top prospect may not be top 4 or 5 in our system, which imo are the only ones Dipoto means are untouchable. The "prominent" guys.D-train wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 6:11 pmBecause we will be competing with GMs that aren't idiots that realize hoarding their top prospects is idiotic.bpj wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 5:42 pmWhat makes you say Olson isn't an option?D-train wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 3:07 pmStory on the A's.
