I get the not dealing top prospects line but at some point you gotta bend just a little. What I wouldn't like is depleting your entire farm for a few guys that's where I come in. But yes I know for a fact we can outbid the Bombers & if Oaklands dumb enough to accept whatever piss poor offer they throw at them they clearly don't know what the hell their doing.AT Funchal-Madeira wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 11:30 pmPlenty of chatter surrounding the Yankees and Matt Olson.... those arrogant bastards always believe they are entitled to a team's MVP and that that team should accept whatever trash prospects they throw at them..... I see Shannon Drayer today told Mike Salk that the M's were very solid on making first move to sign Marcus Simien.... that's a good start, do it..... sign the Japanese outfielder.... it's ok... sign Verlander....ok.... But get your head out of your ass and get after Matt Olson, do not let the Yankees snap him up with a lesser offer... we have the trade chips...

Yeah, like you are suggesting the M's would give the A's their entire farm system for Olson??? Not a realistic argument...

Agreed. Its a cheaper alternative for them than say signing Corey Seager. They'd gladly take Matt Olson and his $12M salary.AT Funchal-Madeira wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 11:30 pmPlenty of chatter surrounding the Yankees and Matt Olson.... those arrogant bastards always believe they are entitled to a team's MVP and that that team should accept whatever trash prospects they throw at them..... Oakland is going to get a haul for him. No way does he wind up with the Yankees in my opinion.

https://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-rumors-tra ... ansactionsNov. 10: M’s have checked in on Castillo
The Mariners are among the teams that have checked in with the Reds about a trade for right-hander Luis Castillo, according to MLB.com’s Jon Paul Morosi.
Morosi reported Nov. 8 that the Reds were willing to engage in trade discussions involving the 28-year-old, who is controllable for two more seasons.

Re: Matt Olson and Luis Castillo are available for trade
Castillo's addition would make our rotation better than it was just a year ago. You could do a lot of different things with that 5 slot. T. Anderson, J. Dunn, R. Ray, A. DeSclafani, would all be very possible additions to the team.AT Funchal-Madeira wrote: ↑Thu Nov 11, 2021 10:04 amhttps://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-rumors-tra ... ansactionsNov. 10: M’s have checked in on Castillo

This seems a bit out of line with a few of JDs recent comments.SeattleSportsRUs wrote: ↑Tue Nov 09, 2021 11:59 pmI can get behind an Olson trade:

1. Not trading any core prominent prospects
2. No idea if he can find a CF
3. France is his first baseman
Might as well post trade ideas for Trout and Tatis JR.

he is going to decide to trade prospects he doesn't want to trade for a player that plays a position he already has filled...makes sense to me

I'm sure the Reds were intrigued with our Juan Then/Kaden Polcovich offer...AT Funchal-Madeira wrote: ↑Thu Nov 11, 2021 10:04 amhttps://www.mlb.com/news/mlb-rumors-tra ... ansactionsNov. 10: M’s have checked in on Castillo
