After the fourth, Dunn wasn't feeling right due to the heat -- game time temperature was 91 degrees -- and he mentioned he had a headache and felt dehydrated to Travelers pitching coach Pete Woodworth.

"It felt hotter than that. It's like 75 percent humidity out," he said. "My body didn't feel right and my head was kind of spinning. I want to put my team in a situation to win. I have to make sure my body's all right and I don't overdo."

He's been consistent, just doesn't really slump. Shown a bit of power this year with 11 HR as well. He'll play some utility in the MLB at the very least.

I mentioned Clay Chandler a few times, well his ERA since promotion isn't the best but his under the hood numbers are looking nice in Modesto.

I know a lot of these guys won't make it to the mlb, but the development of Gilbert, McKinney, Newsome, Crismatt, McGaughan, Miesewicz, Moyers, Sweet, Murfee, McClain, Moyers, Kerr etc... speaks volumes of the Mariners pitching development.

Lots of young arms for them to develop in the coming, years. Kirby, Williamson, Campbell, Then, Casetta-Stubbs, Carlson, Tomcszak, Stoudt, Elliott, Macko, Brayan Perez, Juan Mercedes, Landis, Laws, Driver, Limoncelli, Carlson etc... pitching could be a strength of this system in the short future.

If we can't come up with a decent pitching staff out of all of those names, the curse can never be denied again.

How about Julio with 2 walks last night. Most 18 yo as hot as he is would be swinging at everything. He is a unique talent.

Julio only had a single and 2 walks. OPS was only .933 with that. And no RBI. He's slumping a bit.

We have no real monster pitchers in the system.... but a lot of role players and mid rotation potential. From Logan Gilbert to Joey Gerber, lots of major league potential. Still believe the M's should focus on high school position players to build the system..... our top rated players... Kellenic, Rodriguez, Marte, and solid prospects like Rizzo and Cowan came to us at 16 to 18 years old. ... Houston's lineup comes primarily from getting position players through the draft.... their rotation for the play offs.... Verlander, Cole, Grienke.... did not come through the draft....rather investment on proven players.... Money spent on procuring elite position players is debatable.... ie... Cano, Harper, Machado...? I say load your system with position players through the top rounds in your draft.... follow the minor league system and major league system for pitchers.... ... I think that would be the best strategy moving forward
