Jerry says he has meetings set-up
Re: Jerry says he has meetings set-up
I was wondering why Stroman didn't go deep into games. If they were limiting his innings over the season with short starts instead of disrupting his 5 day schedule like Dipoto and Servais thought was so brilliant, it would make some sense.
Maybe he's capable of being more of a workhorse than he looked in 2021.

Re: Jerry says he has meetings set-up
I could see why they did it, he didn't pitch in 2020.

Yeah Flexen pitched the same # of innings despite 2 less starts due to the 6 man.bpj wrote: ↑Fri Nov 26, 2021 6:03 pmI was wondering why Stroman didn't go deep into games. Re: Jerry says he has meetings set-up
He hasn't put up more than 2.2 WAR since 2019. That was 3 years ago. 4.4, 0.5, 2.2, 1.1 and his OPS was only. 788 all year last year. This bat looks like its beginning to decline. Not sure I want the tail end of a Kris Bryant contract.SeattleSportsRUs wrote: ↑Fri Nov 26, 2021 6:11 amThe obvious difference being that Bryant has dropped an OPS over .900 three times while Figgins dropped an OPS over .800 once. Kris Bryant
SAN FRANCISCO GIANTS 3B
What is there to write about Bryant that hasn't been written before? He's a middle-of-the-order hitter who can play each of the corner spots (as well as some center field) and who carries himself like a face of the franchise. It's too bad that his legacy is going to be intertwined with the popularization (and, therefore, the normalization) of service-time manipulation. He deserves better.
The two couldn't be more different.
Also, I don't quite understand why people internalized the Figgins contract so harshly. It was 4-years $36 million. $9 million a year was pretty mediocre, even for 2010-2012.
If the M's signed Stroman I'd be over the moon. 200 innings of 3.00-3.25 ERA a year? Sign me up.
Semien, Bryant, Stroman and a trade for a starting pitcher would be one hell of an off season.

I definitely don't see two Huge contracts for the INF. Toro probably fills the open spot after they fill the other.Sexymarinersfan wrote: ↑Fri Nov 26, 2021 6:29 pmHe hasn't put up more than 2.2 WAR since 2019. Stecker on Story. He makes the same mistake looking at Arenado's OPS+ and saying "see, he's the same guy" Dumb

He put up 3.6 fWAR in 2021. He put up 4.7 fWAR in 2019.
His 2nd half OPS was .788, his total OPS was .835 with a 124 OPS+.
He played 2020 with a fractured wrist and only appeared in 34 games.
Re: Jerry says he has meetings set-up
BR splits our WAR for each team when guys are traded mid season. He had 2.2 with the Cubs and 1.1 with the Giants. 3.3 total.

Depends if you want to believe actual production, or "he should've had" stats.D-train wrote: ↑Fri Nov 26, 2021 6:44 pmStecker on Story. He makes the same mistake looking at Arenado's OPS+ and saying "see, he's the same guy" Dumb

Not sure they would hand out that $150M contract and pay him like a Top 20 player to have him put up an .807 OPS ranking mid-50's in MLB.
Got yourself an expensive 5 or 6 batter imo.
Story would be worse than Crawford in Seattle imo. At least Crawford hit on the road.
