An official letter has been filed from the Mariners to the MLB regarding the outrageous strike zone calls outside the box to Julio Rodriguez.

And so it begins.

“The called strike, third-strike pitches that are outside the strike zone on pitches outside the strike zone … I sat for a week and watched it with COVID, very frustrating,” said Servais, who missed five games after testing positive for COVID-19. “It’s very frustrating.”

He should have swung at 6 of those and laid off the 3 furthest away. It's embarrassing that they're even complaining about this chart. The majority look like no surprise they're called strikes.

These umps are calling pitches at 95 mph, the Mariners can send whatever candy ass letters they want, it's not going to change a thing.

What a weak look. Oh, we sent a letter...

Servais is a giant pussy.

And you want him giving in to the pitcher and swing outside the zone, the pitcher wins that battle. Ill go with Ruth, swing at good pitches. Really, that is all I can think of to ask a hitter to do, swing at good pitches
.All I can tell them is pick a good one and sock it. I get back to the dugout and they ask me what it was I hit and I tell them I don't know except it looked good.

He's doing exactly what his hitting coaches are telling him too. He'll be fine. He does the majority of his damage inside the zone. Julio is far and away a better prospect than Kelenic. I certainly don't want him to change anything. And if Scott is up there arguing then you know it has to be something. He's a professional and knows a lot more about this game than anyone on this forum. So do all of his coaches.

The issue is he strikes out on pitches outside the zone? I've seen issues with heat maps but never heard of that one before

Swinging at a pitch that's on the black, or close, isn't "giving in to the pitcher".

And its all around the zone, not just on the outside, or above it. I haven't seen anything like this since Ackley. But he will adjust. The great ones always do.

Edwin Arroyo hits his 3rd HR in 2 days. Also had a double off the wall earlier today. He's seeing the ball well...

Might ease some of the sting from losing Khalil Watson if he keeps this up DT.
