Yet he'll try any and every other bum out in power positions, trying to reinvent the wheel with speed
I agree there's been a lot of bad decisions. Some of them have stopped repeating. It's different ways that things are not working out. Injuries have been pretty bad more years than not under Dipoto too. The best way to fill the roster is from the farm and at least that's what they're working towards now.
I agree and have said that Dipoto is a completely different GM since midseason 2018.

Before that I was complaining about him as much as I have Mallex this season, and Wade Miley and Nori Aoki before him.

At this point his biggest problem is putting bums out there that also accomplish his #1 goal of high draft pick.

It's frustrating to watch it play out having to wonder if they actually see Mallex as a potential corner outfielder that scares the shot out of me.

Mallex should have no chance of being better than 4th OF by '21, likely gone much sooner. Trying to get the best return for what they have is the biggest thing in the next year for those veterans, even the young ones.

I dont disagree, my view is they're wasting time trying to salvage value from Mallex or Dee because there is no excess value to be had.

With Santana and Haniger out, fine, get cute. But going into 2020 the roster needs to clear some of this riffraff.

Fraley and Lewis may be something.

Bishop, Smith and Moore can fight for utility roles, but hopefully we're not waiting on some breakout from guys that have no breakout ability, especially when the only positions they can survive in have a prospect line 5 deep in CF and 2B.

2b isn't that deep without going to and maybe beyond rookie ball to DSL. I'm not worried about 2b beyond 2021 or so but nobody is locking it up just yet.

I think they'll have to package guys with Mallex, Dee and Dom to make trades with them although possibly 2 together. Maybe they trade Haniger instead of Santana. Really it's only Kikuchi,
Crawford and Vogelbach that I'm 95% sure I'd keep among guys up most of the year. Probably Seager because of the contract and his value being closer to it than actual albatrosses that people keep suggesting he be traded for. Wil Myers and Jacoby Ellsbury aren't even close to comparable.

Sorry but Shed Long doesnt cut it at 3B.

Dylan Moore and Long are your guys getting blocked by Dee Gordon.

Seager at 3.1 WAR in 89 games. He was at 3.5 WAR in 154 games in 2017 and 1.5 WAR in 155 games in 2018. Incredible rebound.

Playing Gordon right now is just asinine. Like some team is scouting him and will offer a better prospect if he hits over .300 the new couple weeks. He is what he is an absolutely nothing he does or doesn't do the rest of the season will chance that perception.

There are a lot of players than can play 2B. Nola, Long, Lopes, Moore, and Walton.

I'm really happy to see Seager turning it around. My question is this is definitely helping his trade value but should the Mariners trade him?? To be honest I think we should keep him around. He is amoung the best 3rd sacker in the league and with his different approach to hitting I think its best to keep him.

I agree. He is 31 not 41. Beltre put up 6.5 WAR at age 37. I think Seager could come up with 3 WAR at age 34.
