I swear Souza is the Devil!
You know he's a national hero and a great musician, don't you?
Our baseball commissioner requested he write a march for baseball's anniversary, and he came up with "The National Game".

Baseball Commissioner Requests Sousa march
by Jari Villanueva | Apr 11, 2018 | Americana, Marches

In 1925, baseball commissioner Judge Kenesaw Mountain Landis asked Sousa to write a march for the National League’s 50th anniversary. Sousa responded with his wonderful march, “The National Game”.

Landis was American jurist who served as a federal judge from 1905 to 1922 and as the first Commissioner of Baseball from 1920 until his death. His father was a Civil War veteran who named his son after a battle in which he fought.

As a judge, he had once sentenced an aging bank robber to fifteen years in jail. “Your honor,” the man said, “I’m 72 years old. I can’t serve that long.” Landis replied, “Well, do the best you can.”
I've heard this in old movies. Leave poor, old Sousa alone.

HA!
You know there is a big difference between the last name "SouZa" and SouSa" in the Spanish culture. But I hear ya. I had a friend named Edgardo Sousa and he hated it when the Americans pronounced it like "Sooza". Must be a P.R. vs D.R. thing.

They gave JK every chance to stay up and keep Souza in AAA.
