Apparently both triples got the CF wall, including one that went 414 feet

Which demonstrates how silly cycles are
No sillier than any other start like triple doubles. It's impressive to get one, but they shouldn't focus on that.
Recording the number of singles, doubles, triples, ect in a
baseball game is not silly. That two triples instead of a double and a triple is less noteworthy because it doesn't have a name when in reality it's more valuable as well as more unique is silly

Triple double an in a basketball stat... Most bench mark arbitrary stats are not that important, but are fun. A cycle is not stupid. Getting 4 hits including 3 Xtra base hits and a HR is pretty cool. Calling it a cycle is just a fun arbitrary stat.

I didn't say it was stupid, I didn't say it wasn't fun, and it's nothing to do with a triple double. That a player could be in position of needing to sacrifice production, that is need to stop at second on a ball that deserves a triple in order to achieve it indicates it's silly. It's a four hit game of four different types of hits when any number of other combination of four hits has more value but they don't get names. So a four hit game involving two triples instead of a double and a triple becomes more mundane, that's silly

Right now, Modesto is up 15-3. Harry Ford decided to have a breakout game. He is a double away from a cycle, but he has 2 triples, is 4-4 with a walk. I wonder if he regrets legging out that second one for a triple.

Arroyo is 3-5, all singles. BA up to .318.
Hey my reverse jinx finally worked!

Wow, that is an incredible double analogy. Or is it a triple analogy? :)

Yeah it would be like a guy getting exactly 10 points, 10 assists and 10 rebounds in basketball which obviously is less impressive than 29, 13 and 11.

Unreal. Not sure what is worse, his character or his low IQ thinking that he would get credit for a rebound on that.
