Last year at the break, the Braves were 44-45 but were willing acquire Pederson, Soler, Rosario.
I bet we’re about to get a sound bite from Jerry saying he won’t mortgage the future for a chance at a wild card spot, but don’t worry because Toro has been a lot better late in games lately

Hard to say. Busch Stadium, Chase Field, Dodger Stadium, and Oracle Park are generally considered pitchers parks and he has OPS's of .916,1.000, 1.030 and 1.222 at those fields this year. I would have more concerns about him tanking in the second half based on his overall career numbers rather than the ballparks that he is playing in.Juliooooo wrote: ↑Wed Jul 06, 2022 5:30 pmHis OPS is about .790 on the road, what would it be if he played 50% of games in Seattle. Hint, look at what Winker did after going from Cincinnati to Seattle with a much larger track record of success (mostly in Cincy though). I'm fine acquiring him if cheap, but I'd temper expectations that he hits anywhere close to .850 in Seattle. .750 would still be an upgrade, but wouldn't give up too much for him.Captain 97 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 06, 2022 5:03 pmMarinerMike mentioned Drury from Cincinatti back on page 2 of this thread. I think that would be my target as well.
next year will be his last year of arbitration and then he is a FA in 2024 so the Reds probably wouldn't mind unloading him at this point.
He has never really done much in his career so this is kind of a breakout season for him. He has an .851 OPS with 17 Bombs which is exactly the middle of the order type production we need. He can play second base so you can slide Frazier to the bench and you have an instant .300 point improvement in OPS at that position. It also allows you to leave France where he is at 1B and let the Mitch and Lewis rotate between RF and DH if they ever get healthy.

Mahle just landed on the IL.Pharmabro wrote: ↑Tue Jul 05, 2022 8:53 pmI will read what you all said after I put in my .02$.
1st a top of the line starter:
Reds targets Castillo 38.5M value, Mahle 26.4 M
LHBP stud
Andrew Chaffin (MLB trade value 4.3M
I know Burocki is up to a 123 ERA+ but a number of us were clamoring for getting Chaffin in a trade with the A's before they released him and after as a FA
OR
You just go add a reliable closer
David Robertson 222 ERA+ Cubs FA next year (1.7 M trade value)

I did some more dig on the Marlins team meeting about Jazz and it seems it was much ado about nothing. They are only three back so he isn't going anywhere.

2023 season
Drury is scheduled to be a free agent for the 2023 season and is on a one-year, $700,000 deal with the Reds, so the price is certainly reasonable and any team that signs him can decide if they want him to be a part of their plans past this season.1 day ago

The Marlins could use an OF, if they are buyers. Lewis should have a few ABs in by the deadline, and Trammell too. Maybe a package of Hancock and Lewis (or Trammell) for Max Meyer.

Mariner fans are such losers. Multiple people are saying they hoping for or would happy with a split vs a team that has lost 5 in a row that we are playing at home.

I see you straight missed the sarcasm there.ddraig wrote: ↑Wed Jul 06, 2022 4:51 pmCal is worth twice Chisholm. Where are you going to find a good defensive catcher with the potential to provide better than average offense? You gonna throw Torrens out there every day?
As for trading Frazier in a Chisholm deal. It gives the Marlins a temporary 2B and if we throw in a potential 2B in the deal, along with a Kid pitcher and a surplus OF, we might be able to swing the deal. If we keep Frazier, that means sending one of Haggarty or Moore down to Tacoma. Either are better than Frazier right now.
Re: Name two players you want the M's to acquire at the deadline.
Yeah, sorry. But I know some here have been proposing trading Cal, which, IMO, would be flucking stupid!
