So exciting to watch the M's begin to win a bunch of meaningless games at the end of the season.... the only end result will be picking later in the draft not just one round, but for for all thirty rounds.... Stupid

And losing waiver priority all offseason to the 3 teams they're about to pass. Zion Williamson blah blah blah is not comparable to the situation in MLB

That shows 7th and the tiebreaker would look at the sweep

Wow, it hadn't been updated yet. They must have just done it right after I posted. You are correct.

Yeah, wow, it's almost like you can't get professional athletes to play crappy on purpose. It's almost like they want to perform well for the sake of their own career.

What a bunch of idiots!

Doesn't make it smart.

I never referred to individual performances, it's sweeping the direct competition that was dumb.

And that's exactly my point, the chances that we're missing out on the upcoming MLB draft's version of Zion Williamson is just about zero. There's only one time in Mariner history when we ever should have rooted for them to lose and that was the weekend they blew their shot at Stephen Strasburg, who had all the hype in the world (and has for the most part lived up to it).

We're going to pick who we're going to pick out of a field of literally over a thousand players, and there's just about zero chance that the Pirates are going to influence that. We're not going to be going round-by-round crying, "Oh, crap! The Pirates took our guy AGAIN!!!" And whoever we pick is going to take about four years to develop, if he develops. There's a very tiny chance he could end up like A-Rod or Junior, but more likely he could end up like Ackley or Zunino, or even like Hultzen or Clement. It's not worth worrying about. Worrying about drafting ahead of or behind the Pirates makes about as much sense as worrying about a terrorist organization bombing your flight.

You have tunnel vision on the first pick and just entirely ignored my MLB is not NBA point. It's not just 1 (to 3) pick(s) that's affected.

Do you know what waivers are? I could drop about 20 links that show Dipoto does.
