If this is true, would have been better off walking him and letting Sewald (or anyone) pitch to Bregman.

Agree Julioooo, and man, I don't get the excuse making for Sewald. Of all the shit that went wrong, walking that fucking rookie to bring the tieing run to the plate was the worst. What a fucking choke job. That's not on Service. Jesus. He went lefty on lefty....don't go middle in with that fastball and who knows? Or, maybe, don't throw a fastball right after you snuck the first one by...I don't know. BUT, that at bat should have never happened.

Seworse hasn't done his job in months. So why did anyone think he was going to do it there? I don't get why anyone is surprised he sucked.

So, have had the best bullpen in baseball for most of the year, but the guy that was managing it doesn't know how? Brilliant. It was what, August before we lost a lead we had in the 7th? That was the longest run in the Majors, but yeah, the call pulling the strings was just lucky.

Sorry, walk the bases loaded in a two run game? Put the tieing run IN SCORING position? No, nope, not ever. Find guys that can make plays...or we don't deserve to win anyway. Players blew this game, plain and simple.

Well the good thing is we're Mariners fans. Getting punched in the gut, punched in the teeth, kicked in the ass but still moving on with life is what we do best.

Been doing it for 45 years now.

I'm not knocking Sewald here. He is what he is, which is a useful tool, but limited. But broadly, I think we're seeing the limitations of this bullpen. It's a great bullpen for the regular season, but lacking the elite arms for the postseason.
The bullpen started to struggle towards the end of the regular season to be fair. The signs were there that it would be exposed at some point.
Yep. Absolutely.

The biggest problem with the bullpen was Munoz having to face 6 batters meaning the top of the order came up again.
The poster formerly known as Kingfelixk. With a new forum comes a new boardname. Julio is my guy, plus we share a birthday, so that's Culiooooo

We were just one strike away from a relatively decent but nervy 7-5 win and led 7-3 with just 5 outs to go. The pain of this loss is enormous but we now need to get focused on the next game. We have just showed we can live with the Astros even though they robbed us of a victory we probably deserved.

Castillo goes for us. We can level it. It’s going to be really tough but let’s Go Ms.

And he gave up two runs to boot.
