Dipoto, to my knowledge, rarely moves fast on FA's. Seems like he always wants to see where the market is going. Which is ridiculous when you think how close we came to beating the Astros.bpj wrote: ↑Sun Nov 13, 2022 6:49 amI'm hoping Dipoto acts fast on the trade market instead of waiting to see which players end up coming hat in hand, because everything I read says that every other team needs corner outfielders and second basemen.
He needs to go hard and fast after the players they've identified as best fits so he doesn't get stuck sitting on his thumbs (again).

Man, almost double the walks as Ks 82 vs. 42. And while the 21 HRs is light it was only in 121 games so he would be able to do about that in 150+ games here. He hit 29 in 2019.Coeurd’Alene J wrote: ↑Sun Nov 13, 2022 5:12 pmMariners in on my FA pick

Suzuki's OPS went down about 300 points with the Cubs though so who knows what will happen with him.

Re: Finally! Official Hot Stove League Thread
Masataka Yoshida would certainly fit the Mariners' control-the-zone philosophy with an unworldly 82 walks and only 42 strikeouts in 515 plate appearances this year. If his 2022 OBP of .445 translates well to the States, Yoshida could land on top of a proposed M's lineup (with two other additions):Coeurd’Alene J wrote: ↑Sun Nov 13, 2022 5:12 pmMariners in on my FA pick

Really hope that don't with two corner OFers with massive injury concerns just to save money.

In November of last year the Mariners signed Robbie Ray to a five-year, $115 million contract.ddraig wrote: ↑Sun Nov 13, 2022 5:22 pmDipoto, to my knowledge, rarely moves fast on FA's. The previous offseason the Mariners signed Kendall Graveman on October 29 (November 26 the year before), Chris Flexen on December 9 and Keynan Middleton on December 16.
