Morosi says the Rays are expected to offload some players in trades over the next 48 hours.

Brandon Lowe and Randy Arozarena would be some nice additions. Lowe would be much easier to acquire and fills the role of a much needed left bat however.

Lowe is controlled rather cheaply through 2026 if he matches his production prior to 2022.

I would guess the Rays are likely to trade short-term players like Tyler Glasnow, Ryan Yarbrough, Yandy Diaz, Manuel Margot.

I'm doubtful that Lowe or Arozarena are on the market at all. Lowe isn't very expensive and controllable for 4 years. Arozarena is the definition of the type of player the Rays hold onto- pre-arb, cheap talent.

Masataka Yoshida would certainly fit the Mariners' control-the-zone philosophy with an unworldly 82 walks and only 42 strikeouts in 515 plate appearances this year. If his 2022 OBP of .445 translates well to the States, Yoshida could land on top of a proposed M's lineup (with two other additions):

Which is why I think Dipoto has Yoshida #1 on his FA board. Nimmo's asking price is going to be huge.

Which is why I think Dipoto has Yoshida #1 on his FA board. Nimmo's asking price is going to be huge.

It will be in the Robbie Ray range and we signed him. It will be peanuts compared to the SSs.

This seems light but he will make less than half the total contract as Judge or the SSs.

Nimmo is a somewhat under-the-radar QO candidate, even with the hefty price point somewhere in the $18-19MM range.
