Your boys blew them out. Must be fun to score more than 2 goals in 3 games. lol Good to get through but I am sure the Dutch will blow us out. Oh well.mostonmike wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 5:18 pmWell, good luck tonight. I am not predicting any nil-nils for once. Last games in the group always seem to produce twists and turns and it will prove to be an entertaining nightD-train wrote: ↑Fri Nov 25, 2022 9:22 pmWe we have scored 1 goal in 3+ hours so I will believe it when I see it. Not beating Iran which is by far our biggest enemy the past 50 years would not be be good.mostonmike wrote: ↑Fri Nov 25, 2022 8:57 pm
Absolutely this. Had you lost tonight all kinds of complicated math would have come into play, including a possible win over Iran not being enough if Wales would have scored more goals than you against England who would have been able to rest their entire team.
All simple now, I think you will go through. No time for nil-nils now
Winner of Group gets to play Senegal and runner-up has a tough one against Netherlands.
I go for 2-1 England and 2-1 USA. Got a boost on the odds 120/1.
C'mon England, C'mon USA.

But but but there has to be offsides!! Everyone will CHERRY PICK! That is the whole point. It will open up the field just like a spread offense in college football.Michael K. wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 11:11 pm3 goals in two games. 1 win and 2 ties. Basically THE reason I can't watch soccer.

Both games were on in the casino I ended up in. I thought US played at a good tempo and you will probably give the Netherlands a test for about an hour. Keep it tight until last 20 minutes and you never know. I can't see you getting past the Dutch though. But there is definitely hope for the future. Not sure where you might have heard that before.
As for the rest, England might scrape through past a determined Senegal but falter in the quarter finals to France. Germany will find a way to sneak through then reach the semi finals and once they get there its anybody's to win, probably on penalties after a dull nil-nil in the final.

Small sample size - US games only.Michael K. wrote: ↑Tue Nov 29, 2022 11:11 pm3 goals in two games. 1 win and 2 ties. Basically THE reason I can't watch soccer.
So far in the whole tournament 90 goals in 36 games. Exactly 2.5 goals per game. There is an element in the early stages where teams are more cautious trying to avoid defeat and an early exit but other than that this has been a decent World Cup so far.
Excluding FIFAs decision to hold it there, which should go without saying on any post

Knockout stages, the play-offs if you like, get underway today. I’m going to predict Brazil v Portugal in the final from this draw. Good luck USA today.
Re: World Cup 2022 Thread
All over but the crying for the US. Country of 332M people couldn't even compete with a country of 17M people. Crazy.
