Kind of an interesting move by the Yankees. You don't usually see guys with good numbers like that get DFA'd.

The WHIP is high for a reliever but the fip is low. Seems like a guy Jerry would be interested in. Thanks for posting.

He's a soft tosser, use a cutter instead of a fastball and also throws a slider and curve. Good lefty platoon numbers, but not strictly a specialist. His curve was his least-used pitch last year, but batters averaged .040 against it (out of a sample size of 138 pitches).

It's a shame we "weren't ready" the last two offseasons when we got 90 wins, because there were an awful lot of players that were there for the taking.

But the Mariners just had to see what they had in the Jake Fraleys, Braden Bishops, Mallex Smiths, Jarred Kelenics and Taylor Trammells to snag any of these guys........

Instead they waited as long as possible so they didn't have to spend more than they needed to. We see how that has worked out.

Some infielders/outfielders from the 2021/2022 free agents:

I just looked it up on MLBTR's top 50 FAs
th top 23 have all signed #24 Eovaldi is still out there

Profar
Chaffin
Segura
Wacha
Conforto
Myers
Longoria

There are some decent players not "needle movers but decent contributers that could be picked up still. Conforto and Myers

Yeah, the market's running on fumes.

Honestly I don't hate our current roster unless they're penciling in Kelenic. It's not going to challenge the Astros for the division, but they'll be competitive for a wild card again.

Won't be easy because other teams actually improved.

Julio
France
Suarez
Hernandez
Raleigh
Murphy DH
Wong
Haggerty
Crawford

Bench: Trammell/Moore/Hummell

It's really just talking about Kelenic being in the game that's a problem imo. If we have to choose between a LF or a DH- get a LF. I'll take the gamble on Murphy at DH, at least he has actually shown some success
