G2 is going to explode.

He is one year and 25 days younger than Axel. How about a gentleman's bet on higher OPS. I will take Axel in Everett and you take GG in Modesto. I think it will be close! Love both of those kids.

I don't know if the OPS will project as much for G2, because I think he's still developing into that. Julio didn't have more than 13 HR in a year before he made MLB. I still think G2 will be better. Everett is a huge jump for hitters though. Go look at how long it took for Marte to figure it out (I know you remember how down on him you were and how I told you to have patience, then he exploded about midseason). You should probably temper your expectations for Sanchez, because he's going to have a learning curve as well, and I don't want to have the same conversation next season with you

I do think that G2 has a better year in Modesto (I say modesto, because he could get promoted during the season and then may have his struggles in Everett, although maybe he will just Julio it and just dominate every league hes in) than Sanchez has in Everett though.

You can add Bryce Miller to that list of names for me this year. I have a weird feeling that this might be Paul Sewald's last season in Seattle.

I'm interested to see what they do with Miller, Hancock, Brash, Dollard, Berroa. The first 3 deserve a chance to at least compete for a starting spot with Seattle. Berroa is young enough he should stay at starter in the minor leagues to see how he improves this year. Another name to watch will be Woo.

Absolutely on Berroa. The M's are just biding their time for that 5th starter position and who to fill it with. So many internal options. I'd keep Berroa stretched out as well. I've heard that the trade for Walton is beginning to look like a steal for Seattle. But man I wish we had Walton's depth in the organization.

I know the M's were high on Woo after they drafted him. They just need to keep developing young arms. That seems to be their bread and butter right now. Top 100 prospects be damned. The Rangers and Angels can go out and buy all the arms that they want. I still don't think they'll be enough. With prospects, you can bring them up and send them down. Vets have to remain on the roster all season long. Shorter list of arms to work with.

Say what you want about Toro, but his defensive depth will be missed. I'm sure not as hell going to miss his AB's though. Which is why I still feel that we need another infielder. I like Profar, but does Jerry? Does profar like Seattle? Hoping for another trade.

This is part of the reason I didn't like the trade for Castillo. They need hitters. Even if Marte ends up in LF, I think he'll have a bat that will make him an MLB starter, and Arroyo as a good defensive, switch hitting SS, they certainly could have used him somewhere

Noelvi hated the cold in Everett. I would guess a lot of the Latin American guys have trouble adjusting there, but from what I understand Noelvi just absolutely hated it to a whole different level. It's not too surprising that his numbers got better as the temperature went up.

Perplexed how a kid with his pedigree who basically had a 2.00 ERA through his first 15 starts and then struggled toward the end of the season (fatigue?) is in the bottom end of the top 200 prospects.

It's because his strikeout numbers are merely good and not great, along with the injury history. And keep in mind as well that there's a lot of groupthink in the baseball media prospect niche. They all claim to be making their own evaluations, but they really aren't, especially with 2nd and 3rd tier prospects.

Hancock can probably pitch in the rotation opening day and be better than Marco or Flexen in the #5 spot. But the Mariners may also want to work with him at AAA and see if they can get him to miss more bats.
