We're sounding spoiled.

Bottom line is... the Hawks have a system that has produced winning results. 7 playoff appearances in 8 seasons, 2 super bowls... multiple tries in the divisional round and beyond... are not an enigma. They are the product of a system that works.

The Patriots are really the only other team in the NFL who has produced similar results. Do they do it better? Sure... but I'll gladly take the 2nd best organization in professional football over the better part of a decade to what the majority of teams have done. The only other teams who are close over that time are in the AFC w/ Pittsburg and Kansas City... and Kansas City went 2-14 Russ's rookie year.

Teams who you expect to be in contention:

Carolina has 6-10, 7-9 seasons in the last 3 years.

Green Bay 6-9-1, 7-9 seasons in the last 3 years.

New Orleans 4x 7-9 seasons in the last 7 seasons.

49ers are 25-55 the last 5 years.

Atlanta has seasons of 7-9, 8-8, 6-10, 4-12 in the last 6 years.

Dallas has 3x 8-8 seasons and a 4-12 season over the last 8 years.

Eagles have seasons of 4-12, 7-9, 7-9 in the past 8 years.

Vikings have seasons of 8-7-1, 8-8, 7-9, 5-10, 3-13 the last 8 years.

Broncos have seasons of 6-10, 5-11, 9-7 over the last 3 years.

Ravens have seasons of 9-7, 8-8, 5-11, 8-8 over the last 5 years.

^^^

Do you wan't to be those teams? Or have made the playoffs 7 out of 8 years never having a losing record.

Idk... I feel blessed to watch a football team that wins as much as the Hawks do.

We're 5-2... get over it.

Possible to appreciate the success but still lament the idiot decisions......by coaches likely making more than everyone here combined.

I agree... but if the idiot decisions have led to a 2-5 record and not a 5-2 record... I figured we'd be less inclined.

I've been critical of decisions... but not to the point where I'd moronically say this is any indicator of a larger problem when the Hawks prove that theory wrong time and time again.

This team isn't winning another SB with these coaches. You can get by with one bad coordinator like Bevell when you've got players like Wilson and Lynch that can manufacture 1st downs out of badly conceived plays. But now the DC is incompetent as well and they don't have good enough players to get by with the vanilla defense they dial up every game.

I mean yeah... you're probably right.

I'd say a Superbowl looks out of grasp for a lot of teams not named the Patriots, Packers and maybe 49ers.

I'd say the Hawks are in the next flight. And that's OK. As a fan, I'm happy they're there.

I certainly didn't go into this season expecting us to win the Super Bowl. It's clear the roster had/has holes.

Well, just keep selling that sunshine and lollipops. I can tire of negativity sometimes myself, but real fans like most of the people in this forum, have earned the right to rant a little when things go wrong. Pete Carroll isn't afraid of criticism, so why should fans hold back?

I went to the game today. I don't go to many games. I knew we were in trouble walking into the stadium and it was that constant ocean type steady rain with a pestering breeze. From experience, the RW magic doesn't always materialize on a day like this. Even so, the main reason why we lost is a guy named Lamar Jackson. If there was a game plan for that guy, it was a bad one.

It just cracks me up that the people who predicted this was a 4-win team bitch and bitch about things they have a problem with when the team is 5-2...

We know this team wasn't going to be much better than 10-6 or 11-5... at they're well on their way to that number.

Do I wish they'd do things better in certain areas? You bet your ass. But so does every fanbase in the league regarding their team.

Patriots offense hasn't been expected... passing game isn't there.

Chiefs have no D.

Goff put u 70 yards passing against the Niners for the Rams and the D has been terrible.

49ers still don't know what to expect from Goropolo.

Until today, the Packers offense has been carried by the D.

Pretty much every "contending" team has shown major issues and I could go on and on.

Would help if we had a damn roof like the stadium next door. Football is not meant to be played in the elements.

I guess...

Today's weather was built for the Ravens... they have a QB who makes people miss in space... nothing better than a slick field to make that happen.

And yes, Russ hasn't really faired super well in games where the elements were tough.

But you get what you get.

My main complaint with the stadium was the huge hike in ticket prices during the SB runs... now half the stadium is filled with rich, old bandwagoners who said, "OHH welll I doo declareee... this is a mighty fine football team in our city, what is that quarterback's name? Dan Wilson? I thought he retireddd years agooo... this seems fun... let's jump onnnn."

The home field has lost it's flair for crazy noise because there are a bunch of old people in the stadium asking you to sit down and stop yelling because it's ruining their experience.

I've been to a couple games over the years and it's a noticeable change.

I've wondered if that was the case because the 12s aren't killing the opposition like they used to. The same thing happened to the Golden State Warriors. Going back to the 70s their crowds were raucous and then when they finally rose to prominence (the 1975 champs notwithstanding), up went the ticket prices and in came the wine-and-cheese crowd. While they still did really well, they started taking 20-25 point losses at home that never happened in the beginnings of their dynasty.
