I predict we beat the Falcons and Tampa and the 49ers lose to either AZ or Carolina and we go into the MNF match up of the season with a chance to seize control of the Division.

Its not 'over', lol. The issue is our team is just not good enough. You look at this team compared to the 2 years we went to the SB and its pretty obvious we're not those teams. The defense is soft - we've got by in a couple of our wins because our offense scored 30 points or so and the defense was just able to keep them under 30. The defense is the problem right now. Our pass rush is almost non-existent. We got Anzah and Clowney and they aren't doing much at all to sack the QB. We are a 9-7 or 10-6 team at best that can win a game or two in the playoffs but won't make it to the SB. Sure Carrol could maybe do this/that but its really just dressing up a .500 pig.

I understand the trade for Diggs - the team has to do something to solidify another SB window of 3-4 years when Wilson is finally looking like a QB in his prime. They can't waste this like the Mariners did Felix's prime for example. I don't want them to trade away too much picks though as we need to build that team in the next year and be ready to go.

Thanks, D-Train. I used to post back when the forums were associated with the Times site. It's been awhile.

I'm not totally on board with Carroll at this point either, but how exactly did they get "lucky" against the Rams? Because their kicker missed a field goal?
Yes.

Douche, you stated your case, gave your reasons and I don't see why that can't be respected.
I think the Pete Carroll Seahawks have done a tremendous job over the years of moving out the old talent and bringing in new players that have proven to be ready to win. It took longer than we hoped to replace Lynch and the O-Line..but the Hawks were able to still be a competitive team while the difficult search to rebuild a great running game was in progress.
Coach Carroll & Co. have proven to be great judges of talent and how to get the most from that talent. There is of course some luck involved when speculating about which players will give you the most but I think Seahawks management has shown too many times that they are better at this judging talent stuff than average.
I can't picture any scenario any time soon where Carroll is asked to step down. In spite of some criticism of his clock management..look at how many comeback from behind victories he has helped make possible.
Thanks, Moe Gibbs. And I agree with D-Train, Carroll is stubborn and refuses to adapt. The offense is predictable, and I don't see any game time adjustments. His refusal to adapt cost this team last year in that wildcard game against DAL.

I would call the Rams win lucky because of the way we played scared. Chance to put them away early, we don’t go on fourth and short...miss a FG, and it becomes a game again. Then, look at what we did in the fourth quarter offensively to try and protect a lead! It was pathetic. Greg the Leg kicks that the next nine times he tries it. And, if he had, the head between our legs offense these guys ran with a lead would be the topic of many discussions in here.

There's this new "we lost= no game time adjustments." How do you know this? Does someone on here have sideline and locker room access? That's a bold statement to make that the Seahawks aren't making in game adjustments without anything to validate it.

As far as the "stubbornness " and/or refusing to adapt. You want Carroll to scrap his coaching philosophy during a 5-2 season. Tough loss no doubt but it's not like they let Colt McCoy rin for 100 yards and a 1-5 team beat them . Hawks have lost to two of the best teams in football at home...barely. The teams some of you are fawning over haven't played any top teams. The next stretch of games is brutal. I would wait until then to evaluate what this team or coaching staff is.

When we lost to the Saints without Brees it felt bad but good point. That team has been great without Brees ever since.

If they are making in-game or half-time adjustments they aren't working. My eyes (or ears if i'm listening on the radio) tell me they are sticking to a game plan or overall scheme whether it's working or not. I'm just not seeing any evidence of creativity or insight from Norton and Schotty. I think they were hired for reasons other than their ability to innovate and shake things up. If i had to grade them on their ability to draw up plays or defensive schemes to counter the tendencies of an opponent, they are both getting Ds.

Pete has made the playoffs 7 out of 9 years. He has a 9-6 record in the playoffs. He's gone to 2 super bowls winning one and now there are people that want him replaced while the team is 5-2. Amazing!
