Facts do matter to real Americans. That is saying people that can think, are reasonable and responsible. Facts don't matter to those that don't think, act/think reasonable and are not responsible.

Agreed, but the question refers to facts as an entity. Facts nowadays are so twisted, contorted and misrepresented... to the point where it isn't a fact anymore, and contains only partial truths, or no truth at all. A fact has become whatever a person chooses to define it as. Even if it's complete fiction.

I don't recognize this country anymore -- at least the way it is being reported on both sides. I remain convinced that almost 80% of registered voters would agree on most things and lie just barely left or right of the political needle. I remain disgusted that we have no term limits, that we are forced to vote for senile scumbags, outright greedy criminals and career psychopaths out to rake a system that is corrupt to the core.

Joined this site a couple weeks ago. It's the closest reporting that I've seen in years to the way we were taught to report -- 45 years ago. In other words, just STFU and report the news...let the reader make up his or her own mind without hitting someone on the head with a hammer.

But of course, that has nothing to do with ratings or selling soap.

"Sharon Toney-Finch said 15 of the veterans got the heave-ho from the Crossroads Hotel in Newburgh about 60 miles north of New York City in Orange County — a new epicenter of Big Apple’s migrant crisis since Mayor Eric Adams began bussing Gotham’s overflow there against local officials’ wishes.

The other five displaced veterans were split between two other local facilities — the Super 8 and Hampton Inn & Suites in Middletown, Toney-Finch said.

The Middletown hotels are not believed to have migrants yet but were reportedly on the city’s shortlist to take some.

She said the hotels didn’t explicitly say the vets had to move because of the migrants but that it was clear to her that was the case, given the timing.

All 20 of the booted veterans have ended up at a Hudson Valley hotel about 20 minutes away, said Toney-Finch, who asked that The Post not name the site."


The headline led me to believe that the veterans were put out on the street. Glad that wasn't the case.

I'm probably making the same argument again, but ... with no government, how do you provide national defense? I like the free market and defend it all the time, but I feel it has limits. The coordination to provide national defense is costly, and there is a huge "free rider" problem with national defense that a free market could not solve. If a free market could do these things, please inform me how.

You have to rid yourself of the cultist brainwashing. There is no such thing as rulers that work for you. Your "government" works against you. It's a system of slavery and extraction.

The free market can provide both security and protection. Governments don't provide you with safety and order. Only a brainwashed person would view "government" as some sort of benevolent entity.

Government = rule by force. There is nothing moral about it.

Getting super deep, the countries themselves are all franchises of the same company. It's a one world system. Wars are staged, and one of the results is that people think they need "government" to protect them from the other bad guys. News flash, the bad guys are fabricated. North Korea is owned by the same people that own China and the USA. Then, they pump a bunch of propaganda down your throat via the media that they control, and you think that your "country" is protecting you. Nope, your "country" is enslaving you.
