If they are making in-game or half-time adjustments they aren't working. My eyes (or ears if i'm listening on the radio) tell me they are sticking to a game plan or overall scheme whether it's working or not. I'm just not seeing any evidence of creativity or insight from Norton and Schotty. I think they were hired for reasons other than their ability to innovate and shake things up. If i had to grade them on their ability to draw up plays or defensive schemes to counter the tendencies of an opponent, they are both getting Ds.

There's this new "we lost= no game time adjustments." How do you know this? Does someone on here have sideline and locker room access? That's a bold statement to make that the Seahawks aren't making in game adjustments without anything to validate it.

As far as the "stubbornness " and/or refusing to adapt. You want Carroll to scrap his coaching philosophy during a 5-2 season. Tough loss no doubt but it's not like they let Colt McCoy rin for 100 yards and a 1-5 team beat them . Hawks have lost to two of the best teams in football at home...barely. The teams some of you are fawning over haven't played any top teams. The next stretch of games is brutal. I would wait until then to evaluate what this team or coaching staff is.

This is the problem with forums, people read into what isn't said. I never said that Carroll needs to scrap his coaching philosophy, I never said I disliked Carroll. But he is stubborn. And you don't need sideline or locker room access to see that.

Look at the wildcard game against DAL last year. Run, run, run, clock ticks down, SEA loses. It was only at the very end of the game when Wilson chucked a TD and Carson scored a 2 point conversion, but too little too late. At some point Carroll needs to recognize that time is running out, the run game isn't working, gotta change it up. Wilson throws a ball with the best of them, why not utilize that?

And yes, the schedule is pretty rough going forward. 9-7, perhaps 10-6 if lucky. Good enough for a wildcard spot? SF appears to be the real deal.

Agreed. Ask yourself why the Patriots have so much success. They have a great system, but more importantly Belichik is open to every option available to exploit the other team. Carroll's philosophy, however, is to simply keep running the ball because eventually it will work. He even admitted that after last year's loss to DAL. Problem is, there are only 60 minutes on the clock. You don't get an infinite amount of time to determine whether or not the run game is going to work. And if it doesn't, then it's time to explore other options. Football is essentially a large chess game, but if the other team can predict what your next move is going to be, it becomes much easier to defend against.

Good coaches make adjustments, and good coaches coach to the strengths of their players.

Pete has made the playoffs 7 out of 9 years. He has a 9-6 record in the playoffs. He's gone to 2 super bowls winning one and now there are people that want him replaced while the team is 5-2. Amazing!

I don't think that Carroll needs to be replaced, because I'm not sure who would be better. But I am pointing out the shortcomings. Yes, he's been successful, there's no disputing that. But SEA literally threw away that SB loss to NE. And the team has regressed every year since then.

5-2 is a good record at this point in the season, no question. But some real tough contests lie ahead. And what about the slow starts? When your offensive game plan is to run the ball and hope that Wilson pulls a rabbit out of his hat every week, I think you're in for big trouble.

I'm just saying the picture painted by the play-by-play and color commentary does nothing to challenge the conclusions i draw from watching the games. It could all just be bias effecting how i interpret it.
