Carson is a kid in his early 20s that gives me hope for the next generation.
why?

Fraley got us Winker and Saurez. Winks had been a 140 OPS+ the year before and Saurez was a rebound candidate salary dump. Fraley was a good OBP guy in Seattle but has increased his power in a tiny park. a 111 OPS+ is not some great player in a corner. We see see Teo getting trashed and he has had about the same season. Oh, is it because he is "calling out" JD?

It is because most of the Mariner Twitter kids are Jerry ball lickers and he is one of the few that gets it. Btw it is almost July and we are a game under .500 and we have Cabby hitting lead off and Ford and Wong are in the lineup so he is right, Jerry is in fact a dipshit thinking this team would compete for a WS.

I could not disagree in a stronger manner. If you are thinking I would not have got AJ I would have got a better F.A. Say Wil myers, and magically Myers would have repeated his recent productive seasons. And not only would you have had Magic Mage Wil Myers blasting baseballs all over the park but Julio, Teo, Cal, Wong, Moore, Haggerty, Saurez, Murphy, Marco, and Gilbert would all be performing as well or better is a BS story. Julio was a 147 OPS+ guy last year and the anticipation was without the Refs calling balls 6" off the plate for strike three the first several weeks that he would go into that 160-ish OPS+ young Mike Trout territory. He is 40+ percent lower as is Geno. Cal and Teo are 20 points below.

I saw nobody on Twitter claiming that Julio would be near 50% less than he was in his rookie campaign.

There is nothing that could have been done to fix a team that collectively shit the bed.

That's one theory..

But instead they should have added a good bat each of the last couple years instead of playing in the scrap heap for guys like AJ Pollock or Wil Myers, there were clearly better hitters available.

As the team sits, everyone is having to play above their pay grade.

Julio and Cal and Ty and Teo and Geno are all better suited as #6 batters- maybe #5 hitters at best- right now, on a contending team.

If the Mariners had done what they needed to and added actual middle of the order bats instead of trying to strike gold on cheap trades, these guys wouldn't have the pressure to produce that they have right now.

We all knew they needed the extra bats. They didn't have to wait to the end of the offseason and shop in the discount bin, they just chose not to be the high bidders on other players.

Same old Mariners. Dumpster Diving and scraping the bottom and sides in the hope that something good will come out of it. What's that quote about insanity, Jerry? Or that quote about broken clocks?

Cabby is delivering what we expected from Wong and the offense still sucks. Ford is the DH.

2022 vs. 2023 wRC+
Julio - I think I have heard of sophomore slumps but I could be wrong
France - Same hitter he was last season
Geno - Had one last Monster coming back from the dead one last time at the end of a horror flick come back season last season after several bad ones.
Teo - Classic T Mobile decline. Good hitter becomes average hitter
JP - Actually a little better
JK - MASSIVELY better
Cal - About the same
AJ - Cooked

Noe of the above were shocking developments. We have the same offense as last season. Surprise Surprise.

Which is what we on the forum all told him. Loudly, in fact.

And as you mentioned the Angels and Rangers got better but we didn't want to try to keep up with the Jones because Jerry says that wouldn't be prudent. Jerry's a Dipshit.

Maybe their problem is they're paying too much attention to the boobs on Twitter.

Some of us on the forum knew how it could turn out-

🤷‍♂️
