You can voluntarily pool resources to accomplish anything. You just don't need the guns of "government" to get it done. In fact, the "government" version of every service sucks ass. The free market always provides a better alternative.
The idea that the "government" will spend your money better than you and your neighbors would on your own is ludicrous. It's obviously just theft.
Key point is that there are no free markets other than the black market. Everything else is part of the system. The central bank fiat currency scam is also responsible for extracting massive amounts of wealth that we could use to build roads and bridges.
If we had our tax money back, we could afford to actually protect our neighborhoods and prevent crime. That massively reduces the amount of money spent on courts and jails.
If a private security firm has a bad apple on it's team, it must fire that person or it will lose business. When a cop is crooked, his fellow officers don't break the code. He stays on the force.
The toll roads are the good ones. The government roads suck ass.
It's totally obvious to me that in a free society we would have cleaner, cheaper, and more efficiently delivered water. But, even if you disagree, it doesn't matter. Prosperity is not as important as freedom. Even if you can create a "prosperous" system by forcing everyone to do things against their will, it doesn't make it any less immoral.
"Government" is totally fine as long as they don't force you to give them money. That's when it becomes immoral.
